Nobody's (gettig) hostile. Just tired of hearing you go on when you have no idea what your talking about.

It's just the same old band playing the same old song!

Agreed with C-Town. You don't know what happened and what is going on at Walton. Just don't act like you know what you are talking about. The whole reason anyone is on this website is to discuss sports. So stop being a downer and let us discuss.:jump:

Sounds like GF is jealous? Where's his team?

The only downer is you guys getting on and off the bandwagon. It's ok to be disappointed but your obvious jabs at the coach take away from the team and become a major distraction. Just appears that all year the Walton fans have had to point a finger everytime they lose. When they are winning it's great but when they stub their toe, it's the coach's fault. You won by 1 and lost by 4. My guess is if you played 10 times it would end up 5-5. Basketball is a game of runs. Just because you go up 16 on a tean does not mean you are better. If they survive the run and are able to make a run at you then you have to survive the run.

Again, looks like 2 pretty evenly matched teams to me.

Agreed that they are evenly matched. But the main reason everyone at Walton is up and down is because the coach makes up and down moves. In the game against Trimble, they went to a 2'3 and no Heeger to be found. If you went you would have wondered the same thing. This cost Walton the game. Thats why we are upset. It was a major mistake, and it cost us. Why shouldn't we be upset, 85lived?

I agree with your assessment of the fans. I've made several positive posts about the Walton program and have tried to be realistic about the team. But people can't keep making excuses and pointing blame on the coach everytime they lose. IMO, Walton is no powerhouse, just an average team. People need to be realistic with their expectations and the outcomes. Walton lost to Trimble because they were not the best team on that night. It's that simple. No excuses or blame on anyone.

Madman, we (Walton fans) understand Walton is not a power-house. But losing to teams, that Walton shouldn't is what upsets parents, fans, and the girls on the team. Trimble is a good team, not taking anything from that team, because they have good talent, but Walton, this year is the better team. With Hargett (One of the top players in Region) and other talent on that team, Walton should be winning games they have lost. That's why we (Fans) are upset. We were happy when we were beating Williamstowns, and Grants, and other small schools, but when the game 'counted' we got out coached. And lost a game where we were the favorites to win. That's what upsets the viewers. When you watch your team get out coached. Any parent/fan would be upset about that.

It seems like ever since Walton was taken over, the girls and team heart just isn't always there. Last year, first losing season in forever, games this year not winning, and just different things off and on the court.

I just hope these girls at Walton won't give up and think that there isn't anything to play for, because if they can get it together, then we'll have a decent end of the season.

I understand your frustration but WV fans still have to be realistic. They are an average team and they will lose to average teams. It's normal for parents and fans to say "we should win this game or that game" based on their biased perceptions and devotion to their team. Yes, the coach may have made some mistakes but did the girls hit all their shots and have no turnovers? Three more make baskets would have been the difference. They just got beat by another average team. Hargett will get her 20 and others need to step-up. That's not been happening on a consistent basis. Also, could you clarify "who took over Walton"?

I wouldn't put Walton just as an average team. The pre-season "All A" had Walton coming out on top. They were top ten in the Region Polls, and have senior loaded, experience team. Great bench, good young talent, top player in the Region in Hargett, Heeger, school's all time 3 point shooter, and Dixon has come along as a great post player this season. That's an above average team, Madman. I don't know what you see, but thats some talent and a team that has played together for a long time. The 8th graders have step'd up and played huge for Walton, they aren't average.

Yes, three more baskets would have changed the game, but with Trimble packing in the zone, pulling Hargett out from the basket, where she isn't comfortable, and not putting in Heeger to extend the D' out for Hergett to score lost us the game. That's point blank. I can't make that anymore clear. The coach put's Heeger in with 3 seconds, down 4 points, like what is she suppose to do?? Trimble played great down towards the end of the game, but Walton's coach took Walton out of the game. Everyone tried to dribble through the 2'3 and Miller waiting to block everyone's shot. Trimble had a great game plan and now is going to Richmond. Glad to see them, not trying to keep making excuses but it upsetting to see something like this happen to a senior loaded team, it hurts. Walton put everything out on the floor that night, and still came up short.

The girls did make miss-takes but so did Trimble's team. Walton had the game under-control through 3 quarters. When it came down to crunch time, Trimble out coached WV. Do you not agree?

Sounds like GF is jealous? Where's his team?

Jealous over WV......:p My team is young and I DO NOT make excuses for them. You just take it and move on. Some people just can't do that!:sssh:

Point 1: Pre-Season polls mean nothing. Those pre-season polls are just what people think teams will do. How many times does the #1 Pre-Season team in the state or in college win the championship? Not very often.

Point 2: Last time I looked, they were rated 8th in the region. There are 16 teams in the region so half are better and half are worse. Being rated 8th is average.

Point 3: Just because you have a senior loaded/experienced team means nothing if they don't produce on a consistent basis. It looks like this is the case. Maybe some underachievers. When was Hargett named the top player in the Region? I thought this was announced after the season.

Point 4: Maybe something is going on between the players (friction, jealousy, etc.) that people don't know about. If seen this before and Walton has alot of these symptoms.

Point 5: Walton has average 8th graders. They are good players but not impact players at this point.

Point 6: We don't know why Heeger was not playing and until we do it's not fair to criticize the coach. Until I know why, I can't say she was out coached.

Point 7: Walton got beat by a better team that night. It's that simple. No excuses are necessary.

If the seniors provide the necessary leadership and step it up, they still can win some games. I don't look for them to win the District but may get runner-up and go to the Regionals. That would still be an accomplishment.

Jeanie I understande you're frustrated because of the outcomes of some of your games that maybe your team "should have" won in your opinion. I don't post alot but I'm on the site almost everyday. I don't think I've seen one positive thing from you after any WV loss. We know kids read this site. Post your excuses if it makes you feel better. But how about a Congrats to Coach Stewart and the Lady Raiders. Good Luck in Richmond. Your region is cheering for you. Maybe this attitude could spread to your team and turn some of those L's into W's. It's all about attitude.
