Cumberland 55 Bell County 32

Featured Replies

Great way to bounce back after their weekend in Knott Co. they must have played some top notch D for Bell to only score 32.

From my understanding the game ended with both teams getting into a scuffle. I don't have any details and don't want to speculate as to what happened. I know Jerry Edwards and Lewis Morris and I believe that both of these coaches coach their teams to play the right way. Maybe someone that was at the game can provide some details...

From what I hear, Zachery and Polson were ejected. Is that final score right?

I was listening to the local (AM) station and it was kind of "fuzzy".

If someone can get us a correct score I'd appreciate it and I apologize.

I'm not saying that the final score is wrong. I just didn't think Cumberland would win by that much.

The score is correct.

The scuffle was fairly early in the third quarter. Polson was ejected then. Zachery was ejected just before play was about to resume. He wasn't involved in the incident but must have said something.

After watching video, Zachery was involved. Zachery dived in to the pile swinging after Polson threw his punch.....

Coach Morris and Coach Akal played together in high school didn't they. That seems like a pretty good story line HDE.

I wonder why they waited so long to eject him.

Morris' Cumberland connections were discussed in the story. The fight took a little out of that angle.

That is very unfortunate for Bell Co. to have Zachery ejected, especially when they have another tough one against Pineville tonight.

Very unlike Zachery. I would think their has to be some confusion with one of the officials involved I would not be surprised if their was a mistake made. Talking to one of my friends at Bell today they were looking into getting the tape reviewed by KHSAA.

The Cumberland three and North Carolina two are playing pretty good ball but I think this is not over yet. How many years had it been since Cumberland beat Bell?

Cumberland beat Bell in the 2003 regional tournament. I'm not sure if that was the last one.

HDE I think you are right.

Man, you sound like there aren't ever any transfers to other schools. Why the Cumberland/North Carolina reference?

It could be easy to look at any roster and say something like that.
