No matter what grade the best players should play the majority of the time (Varsity) you develop in the lower levels. If you are not one of the better players, work harder and get better. Being a senior doesn't mean playing time. The bottom line is that those 2 8th graders should not of played middle school this year. They should have been with the JV/Varsity from the start. Plus, there is probably one more middle school girl that will be playing Varsity before the season is over. I think that the program didn't have a very good/clear vision before the season started. In another thread everyone was screaming for a change, well it looks like the change is starting. I hope it works out.

I completely agree with you. Earlier I was just trying to play devils advocate with the 8th grade and Senior comments. I truly do believe that Walton is now on the right track and the All "A" is definitely in reach. I think this group of girls will be very special and have a great season. I hope all the girls can come together and keep playing well for the rest of the year. :banana:

So do you think the coach had this in mind all along? Was it her plan to see if the upper-classmen could produce before bringing up the younger girls? If this was her plan, then she is smarter than most people gave her credit for in the previous thread. I think this was her plan. Since they weren't winning and now they are, no one should question her about using the younger girls. It's been a positive change. :thumb:

Is it the coaches plan or the athletic department's. It is my understanding that Walton-Verona has a rule that says that middle school players must play middle school ball. Either way, it seems to be helping the varsity at this point in time.

Maybe it is a combination of both, the coach and the athletic department. Not sure what you mean that middle school player must play middle school ball. There have been other middle school players move up in the past. Please clarify.

I have heard from some reliable sources that the priority is for the players grade level and as long as moving up does not interefere with them playing for their grade (at least as far as MS goes) then it is ok.
