Maybe when he plays hard. He has all the physical talents in the world but doesn't always use them on the defensive end. Unless Darius is playing hard, he isn't even the best defender on his team.

I have watched the Porter kid from Ryle for the past three years and believe he is the most versatile defender in northern Ky.He held Hill from Holmes to 3 pts. and defended Vories to 6 or 7.I have seen him stop guards and forwards and even postup a center or two.

More versatile than Henderson? I haven't seen Ryle play this year, but sure other BGP'ers have. If he's a more "versatile" defender than Henderson, I'm sure others would have noticed. Like I said, I haven't seen the Porter kid play, and not saying he can't play D, but saying he is the most versatile in NKY is strong. Especially with kids like Henderson, and Grimes.

Porter from Ryle may be the most underrated defender in the 9th if not in the state.

Henderson is also one of the top in the state.

Henderson from Holmes without a doubt. :thumb:

 

Hopson was extremely effective in the King of the Bluegrass. His height and explosiveness made driving the lane against UHA very dangerous.

Ryle has a very good defensive team. They may play the best defense in the region.

Porter is good and so are a couple other Ryle players. Lamping and Helmer for Ryle can play some tough defense.

Henderson for sure. I don't think Miller is as good on D as advertised.. his length does create problems though.

It think Darius Miller can shut anyone down, any game, any day, any time.

Add Tyshawn Edmundson, a senior at UHA. Did a great job on Noel Johnson in helping UHA win.

No doubt in my mind Henderson and Miller are the best. But I give Arez the title as the best defender. He is so quick, jumps so high, and makes it seem like you are being double teamed.
