I agree with you 100% Striker. Its way to early to worry about that.

If they would have shot better at the free throw line they would have scored many more points, and Newport would not of cut it to 4. Hopefully they correct that.

Wow Guys--Been away from BGP for a couple days and thought I was reading about a 1-5 team, not a 5-1 team?? I'm sure Coach Code is still getting his guys to buy into his patterned offensive scheme, where they've been used to something totally different. Code's worked the last three years and most of his career with teams that have had dominent post men, and been part of offenses that look inside first. They might be "winning ugly" but the key word there is winning. That stretch mentioned above will test them and their newfound "D". It will be interesting--Good luck to them!!

Throughout our Schlarman/Code regime our (Brossart's) "style of winning" has oft been criticized.

 

Funny thing about it is - it works.

 

Don't know where it says that if you score 70-80 points a night, it is a better win than by only scoring 40 or 50 points.

 

Point is Campbell has been losing for the past few years while scoring more than they are presently winning with.

 

Would you rather play great "D," get high percentage shots, control the tempo, limit your turnovers and win? Or be a high potency, run, gun, and have fun, loser?

It appears to me that we should be happy with the wins, and lets move forward. I think everyone expects the team to do better offensisvely, and I think it will. Regardless of 5-1 or 1-5, it all starts over the end of February.

Beside Ben, Nerl, and Petey, who else is starting and contributing off the bench this year?

They could definaty beat these tough teams coming up but they would have to score and keep the defense where it's at. They have the ability to score in the 70's and 80's but they don't because they don't move on offense. No one cuts, there are not picks, they just stand there. I believe that they could do better on offense if he just let them play and stopped trying to score inside. If you let Nerl and Ben Franzen get hot early then they'll draw the defense and they won't have to force the ball inside, Pete will be open or have a mismatch and you'll get easy buckets. Also if he would let Nerl and Ben go inside they would score more because they are mismatched in everygame. Both are 6'2 and 6'3 and are being guarded by 5'10 guards who would be easy to post up. I'm not saying Code is a bad coach because that isn't true. He's just WAYY too defensive minded. Lets see him try to hold Darius Miller to 4 in the first half and he'll realize how important the offense is.

The fifth starter is Coffman. The most contributing bench player is debatable. Could be jolly but he jacks up 20 shots a game or possibly A. Franzen or Parks. It's up in the air really.
