Yes a win is a win and that's great that the Camels have started strong but the question is how will they handle these much stronger teams?????

 

They could definaty beat these tough teams coming up but they would have to score and keep the defense where it's at. They have the ability to score in the 70's and 80's but they don't because they don't move on offense. No one cuts, there are not picks, they just stand there. I believe that they could do better on offense if he just let them play and stopped trying to score inside. If you let Nerl and Ben Franzen get hot early then they'll draw the defense and they won't have to force the ball inside, Pete will be open or have a mismatch and you'll get easy buckets. Also if he would let Nerl and Ben go inside they would score more because they are mismatched in everygame. Both are 6'2 and 6'3 and are being guarded by 5'10 guards who would be easy to post up. I'm not saying Code is a bad coach because that isn't true. He's just WAYY too defensive minded. Lets see him try to hold Darius Miller to 4 in the first half and he'll realize how important the offense is.

A couple of these posts are sounding like a few statistics happy parents that we have no choice to listen to in the stands. Strange, these were the same ones who complained about the old coach and now this one? I feel bad for these parents. They are use to their golden childs scoring 20 in AAU and now they don't or not even play. Strange, it just seems weird seeing the posts of what I hear.

ot, you must know by now that parents are the reason most coaches get out of coaching. It's just isn't worth the hassle, having little Billy have to go home and listen to mom and dad tell him hes all world when they lose sight of basketball being a TEAM sport. I'm complaining about 5-1 because 5-1 will turn into 5-10 when you start playing better teams that aren't pushovers and your forced to score points.

Nothing wrong with saying the coach is more defensive minded and making legitimate comments about how the Camels could improve offensively. I dont think its a sniveling parent. Who wants to watch a boring game where the kids play stiff and pass it around until they get it down on the block everytime down the floor? CCHS Camel 1 even prefaced one of his sentences by saying he wasnt calling him a bad coach.

Thanks. For me though i reall don't even care if it's intersting to watch. I just know that this team is loaded with talent and it's not being put to good use because Code is defensivly minded. I genuinly just want this team to live up to their potential.

if they were scoreing 70 a game and still had the defense they'd be 6-0. Do you really believe that they can compete with Mason and Holmes witht this play. Hell Mason is about to take down #15 in the nation.

I believe the offense will improve as they get acquainted with the system. It doesnt' matter if they compete with Holmes, they are in the 9th region. No one in the 10th is going to handle Mason this year and maybe no one in the state. 5-1 is 5-1 if your scoring 50 or 70. Mason did win by the way. Defense wins games always has always will. It does no good to score 70 if you give up 71.

They would be lucky to hold some of the better teams around here to 50 but from what i've seen they can't score like that in this system. Are you really saying that your satisfied with the offense? Nerl can beat up any team with his shooting but they don't set picks to get him open. He also has the size to take people iside but never gets the opportunity.

No, what I am saying is they are 5-1, playing good defense and I am willing to give the offense time to come around. If this were the first week of February and they were averaging 50 a game I would be concerned. I love the tough defense they are playing, its been a long time since we have seen that at CCHS. It so good to see them aggressive on the defensive end. They will score points, we all know these kids are talented enough to put the ball in the hole. What we didn't know was they were capable of getting after it for 32 minutes on defense. GOOOOOOOO CAMELS keep up the good work, both players and coaches.

One last thing is I'm not a parent so i don't think you hear me in the stands.
