If you want to get the chance to see some of the freshman girls teams play, I know that Scott High School is hosting their annual freshman girls tournament starting at the end of next week. Come out and support your freshman girls teams. Not sure of all of the teams, but I know they usually have a good turn out.

I, too, would like to know some freshman scores.

What region is St. Henry in? I know B. Brossart lost to Maysville St. Patrick by about 20 pts. I would like to know what the other region 10 teams are doing?

Ryle, Conner, Highlands, NDA, Brossart, Holy Cross, Boone, Bracken, Dixie, Scott, Ludlow, and Holmes. 4 pools. Great tournament. Highlands is defending champion.

If you are a good freshman at a small school, you probably won't even suit up for freshman games, you will be spending all your time on the JV and/or the varsity. That's just the way it is.

These the girls from IHM?

yes, the two girls mentioned and five of the ten freshman are from IHM....

Highlands 41-16 over Campbell County last night.

The Birds do have a good Freshmen team. The Lady Camels Freshmen have only a few players that can really play. This year should be better than last year with the team only winning one game. They should improve as the season moves on.

To what do you attribute the couple of down years for the Lady Camels? Their numbers at the Middle School level are unmatched in NKY. Each year 2 teams per grade. Other programs are lucky to scrape 10 girls for one team.

Good luck with your season. Hey Welcome to the site:thumb:

One girl that played in the eight grade tore her ACL, some of them went to Brossart, and several that have some talent, have quit playing.

I guess the next question is why did girls go from CC Middle schools to Brossart and why did the others quit?

One went back to Saint Mary's after seventh grade, since her family is big at Brossart. Another went to Brossart after attending CCMS through the eighth grade, following her friend that left the year before.

Also, some quit because of playing time. I feel at the 8th Grade, you need to build for the future, but having girls that leave to go to other schools that take up others players playing time hurts a program. This does not help develop players when they do not get time.

You'd still think that with 20 girls playing in 8th, the frosh would be a little stronger. Why not play girls up. There is a girl on 7th purple that is good enough to play frosh. What good does it do her dominating kids at the 7th grade level?

What is the rule for playing up as a 7th or 8th grader? From what I understand they would have to move right to varsity and could not play frosh or J.V. Does anyone know how this would work?

Never heard of that one. I am sure they can play at any level.
