NO, but what everyone else expected

It was not what we wanted or expected but Boone was just to much for Walton. Kirk played great with a big night. Walton fought hard, but just couldn't hang with the size and skill of Boone County! Walton needs to just forget about this loss and move on to a more important game!

I thought that the cats hung in there. Was within 10 to 13 at one point in the 3qtr but made a few turnovers and Boone hit a couple 3's and the score was back up to around 20. Don't know if Ponzer (Payton) was sick but did not play his best game tonight. Good minutes from Harper and J. Ponzer I thought. Not a bad job, just out matched.

The difference is speed on the defensive end was huge, Boone was faster stronger and alot taller then Walton they where just out matched from the start. Plus it did not help that Jones was in foul trouble the whole game, it really did not let him get in a groove.

Payton playing bad suprised me. I figured he'd play good, because he seem's like a player that wants to shine against a big team. Boone was just to much. The two guards for Boone impressed me a lot also. Quick, shooters, all around players. Walton will bounce back. They always do.

All in all, I still think Walton can play with Boone, just didn't show up last night, although Kirk definitely did show up. Good job! Very impressed with the sophmore bunch.

No disrespect to WV but if they played Boone 100 times, they would lose 95 times. A lot of Walton not showing up had something to do with who they were playing.
