I do not feel that anyone has given enough credit to the fact when

consolidation takes place the Superintendent if faced with many great

task this being know exception. (To all non believers) It is going to happen,

remember this superintendent has built football programs from the ground

up so he is taking his time and will not put someone in that cannot

make the best decisions for the school system or the football program from

K-12 aspect. Again the mountains are full of great football players, the

kind that are tough and can Win champoinships. (Just an ole coach looking

in) Again buckle up your chin straps and stay positive.

No need to take offense Black Bear. It is just a fact that because you are putting these schools together doesn't mean you will win a state championship or be the best high school in the state. In reality it means that you may have even more obstacles to overcome than many of the other schools. Coupled with the fact that the school will not be finished (athletic facilities) and a community that has fought this since the beginnig. (overwhelming community support) it will be a lot harder to obtain the success that most on this site are expecting. I do not disagree with the fact you will have a great school and the opportunity for a really fine football team and wish you the best of luck. I also agree that Coach Salyor will do a great job in hiring a coach. So, best of luck, and be careful not to put that kind of pressure on the new guy, whoever he may be.

Don't be suprised if the school ( everything ) isn't complete. They are only a few who are stirring the pot BUT many many more that are working for the good of this school. Don't be fooled because you only hear negative talk which is coming from a select few. Many people are working for a common goal as we speak. Harlan County High will be fine. IMO, this is where the people on here are setting there kids, new HC, and community up for failure. Because if you are truely supporters of the program and are expecting a state championship than or an overnight instant success, someone, somewhere has the wrong grip on reality.

Always set obtainable goals. So that your program gets something to build from. The only goal i would be talkin about at this moment would not be how good or bad we would be but rather simply who the head coach will be.

I have reread every post on here an didn't see anyone say that about a state champ. I said that if the proposal held up HCHS's road might be better than Bell's road and then went on to say we wanted a state champ next year if not then the next and so on. I think everybody who knows anything knows that champs come from blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of luck. I am not in anyway saying just because of the schools coming together that we will be awarded a state champ or do I think any other supporter is saying that. Only a lot of hard work will bring that.

I understand what you are saying but something is going to happen and happen within the next few years IMO. The Public/Private issue is very real and isn't going to go away. This one may not pass but changes are coming to football in the state of Kentucky. To be a champ is what every school is playing for. If HCHS doesn't win it next year we will the next or the next. You must have goals big guy.
