December 3, 200718 yr Nah. You'd hate to give up a down to honor a fallen peer from your profession. When you are Buffalo you take the 22 when you can get it because you never know when you may get another.
December 3, 200718 yr What are they supposed to do, take a knee to begin the ballgame. When you run a play on the side of the field that you know the FS covers... And you know there's a tribute and only 10 men on the field... And you take advantage of the situation and the tribute to gain a competitive advantage, that bothers me.... My mind will not be changed... I'm not trying to change yours either, I just believe it was a classless move and nothing will sway me from that thought.
December 3, 200718 yr I didn't see the game or the play. Was Buffalo aware they only had 10 on the field? Most teams will run on the first play of the game anyways.

I am 100% in agreement with you, in fact, I was going to start a thread stating that I was disappointed in the Bills for the way they handled it. I'm no fan of Soccer (cue Habib's angst), but when a guy gets kicked in the freaking shin and goes down the other team kicks it out of bounds. Great move by the Redskins...goose-bump type of stuff. Weak by the Bills to take advantage of it. Don't give me the "competitive game" stuff, it was the first play of the game.

The play should have been stopped long before the FS got involved. I'd be more upsed if they had thrown the ball. That would have been especially cheap.
December 4, 200718 yr Coach Gibbs (Head Coach for Redskins), didn't even know the Redskins D was going to do the tribute. Classy move by the D & Defensive Coordinator. Also a classy move by the Bills offense by not throwing the deep ball on that play.
December 4, 200718 yr If the Bills didn't know about it, like ESPN is saying, then I can't really complain too much about it... From my understanding BEFORE it happened, though, this was to be common knowledge for both teams.
