I want to thank all thoes that gave updates tonight....great job.:thumb:

Suprised that 34 is Millers highest scoring game.

As predicted the Royals pulled away in the last few minutes. Thought they would have a easier job winning against the #18th ranked team in the state, with them being ranked #1. Great win on the road.

Everyone has an off night. Mason definately wasn't shooting the 3 well at all.. and there were a LOT of fouls it sounded like.

But what a game! Sparks with 44 points and 12 rebounds. That's remarkable.

Sounded like Miller had an excellent game as well. A win's a win.. and I'm sure they'll take it, even if it wasn't too pretty.

Hats off to Tates Creek. They must have really improved since the preseason game I saw. Interesting stat of 1 for 10 from 3's and MC still pulls out a double-digit win. MC wins two close battles and proves with the X on their back they will get eveyone's best shot.

Very good game, had to listen from work AGAIN tonight. Royals showed great poise pulling this one out in the 4th. Sounds like the Sparks kid from TC is a stud. Good game royals, and hats off too tates creek for giving us all we could handle. Sounds like TC might make some noise this year also.

Yeah the 1-10 behind the arc really hurt the Royals as it allowed the Creekers to collapse down on the inside,The biggest obstacle tonight for both teams was the officials yikes they were whistle happy and that never allowed the Royals to get on one of there big runs as the stripes really controlled this game.Overall give the Creek credit especially Sparks hes a stud and he shot over 20+ FT tonight by himself.I came away very happy with a 13 Point win on the Creeks home floor with all in all how the flow of the game went.Up next for Mason there home opener Against CovCath,Should be fun and another great one as yet again it will be another top 20 team 3 out of 3 to start the year,Which will only make Mason better guys and gals.:thumb:

Nice comeback by the Royals after being down by 5 or 6 with 6:20 to play and all the momentum on the Creekers' side. Finally stepped up the defense; created several turnovers, HIT A FEW FREE THROWS and sealed the deal. Sparks was unconscious; seemed like everything he threw up went in without even drawing iron. He had 41 up to the time Mason finally stepped to the plate; held to 3 over the final 6 minutes. Mason had to overcome terrible free-throw and 3-point shooting tonight; ultimately defense did it.

Great game by Miller as expected; when he gets a little mad is when he's at his best. Great hardnosed complementary play from Downing tonight. For a while there in the second half it looked like the only way Mason County was going to get a call was to bleed a little; Downing' was the guy. In that respect it was a tale of two halves; as TC was called for a whole lot of fouls in the first half; then the trend was reversed in the second half. Very spotty officiating, but ultimately did not affect the outcome. You always have to wonder when calls that are made in the corner are being overruled at halfcourt.

Talking with some of the Mason County faithful; we all agree that:

- The Royals definitely have the bullseye on their back and although it's a cliche; they're going to get the best effort of a lot of teams. Kind of like what Scott County has had to deal with.

- Sometimes it's hard to turn on the jets for those 3-4 minute spurts; sooner or later there will be an opponent that won't allow Mason County to go on one of those 14-2 runs whenever they feel like it.

- Put a team away as early as possible. Don't let the opposition dictate tempo and hang around.

- Please make some free throws. To his credit, Middleton, who was having problems at the line, made A BUNCH of key plays at crunch time.

Lots of heart shown by this Royal team down the stretch tonight!
