December 1, 200718 yr 1st grade I got a Zero W gun complete with holster and I could tie it to my leg...loved it! The most memorable gift though was a watch that my dad & mom gave me in 1977... the following year dad passed away.
December 2, 200718 yr I think my best gift was a weight set that i got when i was 15. That got me started now my bench press is over 750. Thanks mom and dad.
December 2, 200718 yr A Red Ryder 200 shot carbine action range model air riffle with a compass built in the stock. :thumb: Actually I think it was a daisy pump action, but the other sounds better. You will put your eye out...... One of mine was a little "wind up" plastic rabbit hunting set - it came with a toy double barrel shotgun that shot rubber darts/shells. Wind the rabbit up set it on the floor and then shoot it with the toy shotgun. I was born / meant to hunt at a very early age...LOL.
December 2, 200718 yr My best Christmas gift is one that will be given to me this year. PH will not be in the hospital and will be home for Christmas. This, I am very thankful for. Also, this year, my mom celebrated being cancer free for the five year mark. Looking back at all the heartbreaking times that PH and I have had together these past couple of years makes me thank God that there are times like this. PH is still suffering from pressure sores and such, however, in great health!!! Happy early Birthday Jesus!!!! Best post on this thread, may God Bless you with a wonderful Christmas...you certainly deserve it Mrs. PH. :thumb: Actually, the greatest gift that any of us has ever recieved is the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!!
December 2, 200718 yr This Christmas I am going to Juarez, Mexico to build a home for a family living in shed made of cardboard and wood scraps. So the opportunity to change the lives of a family in culture far different from my own, in one of the poorest cities on Earth, is by far and away the best gift I have ever gotten and I thank God who has given to me. Another great post.....:thumb: This guy "gets it".
December 2, 200718 yr I got a drum set in 5th garde. That was awesome, thanks dad!! And he immediately regretted that purchase.
December 2, 200718 yr I was a freshmen and everyone had a Mattel basketall game....you remeber the little red marks moved.....well Mom and Dad were both retired and there was not alot of money in my house, and somehow they got me that game that I wanted so badly. Looking back, it was a big sacrifice for them, and that is why is was so great. Now I have kids of my own and I am blessed with a good job and a wife with a good job, and although we have a comfortble life, I don't know if I will ever match for my kids what my parents did for me.
December 3, 200718 yr You will put your eye out...... I got one of those also, they were fun. One year my big brother and I got these toy rifles that shot plastic bullets. You would put a cap on the end of the bullet and that was the ignitor. My parents liked them until we started shooting the bulbs off the Christmas tree.
December 3, 200718 yr When I was a kid, I loved San Diego Chargers fullback Chuck Muncie, who was later convicted and sentenced on cocaine possession charges. Santa got me a Chuck Muncie #46 jersey with the name and lightning bolts and everything. I stuffed it in my backpack and would change into it every day at the bus-stop and didn't wash it and it could practically walk by itself and I ended up getting in trouble at school over it. Probably the first ever unwritten dress-code violation in San Diego County. Anyway, that Christmas present was my favorite.
December 4, 200718 yr At my age, the best Christmas present I've ever gotten or will ever get would have to be another Christmas morning with my family (daugher, husband, and BOTH of my parents) sitting around the Christmas tree. I count my blessings every day that each one is still a part of my life.
December 4, 200718 yr My very first SEGA Genesis when I thought my parents couldnt afford one for me. I was shocked beyond belief that Christmas morning when I opened it up. Ill never forget that.
