What Owens is a top 5 player in the Region and only scored 14 points against a Class A school like St. Henry?????

Hoopscrayzie where you at?

** NO DISRESPECT TO CHRIS OWENS BECAUSE HE IS A TOP 5 PLAYER BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY A TOP NOTCH PERSON FROM A TOP NOTCH FAMILY, BUT JUST MAKING A STATEMENT TO ANOTHER BGPer that everyone has a bad night**

St. Henry is Brossart-esque and play very good defense... Owens wouldn't score more than 15 points against many Class A parochial schools up in NKY. They all play hard nosed defense. 14 points against St. Henry isn't a down night...

There very physical.

There very physical.

St. Henry is usually very physical and always well coached... However, I believe they lost around 9 seniors last year...

Way off base, but I recall that St, Henry gave all Mason County could handle in the 1st round of the '03 Sweet 16; and if Schmidt hadn't had to sit for a few minutes, there could have been a champion other than the Royals.

Regardless of who is on the floor for St. Henry, they will play some defense.

Yep, I was sitting front row... That was a great game.

Yep they played very well that day,And honestly probally should have won.

Congrats to Coach Hinson and his boys. They should have a nice season ahead.

Highlight of the game was the half court bucket by Anderson at the buzzer in the 3rd. NICE!

This was a very physical game, and something like 6 or 7 players fouled out. Darby Gallenstein and Chris Owens for the Saints, and 4 or 5 for the Crusaiders. St. Pat really has to work on their free throws though. Coach Hinson coached a good game. Anderson's half-court shot to put them up by 3 at the end of the 3rd really boosted St. Patrick's morale I think.

Everyone knows that game could have went the other way, maybe so and maybe not. We don't know what impact Schmidt would have had for totally certain. Everyone also should know once you get to the Sweet 16, to advance a little luck has to be on your side, a ball bouncing the right way, a call here and there whether its right or wrong, but to win it you have to put everything together. That is what the Royals did, along with so many other State Champions.

Good way to start the season Saints. Was hard hearing Phillip Hay sign off for the last time on the radio. Good luck Phillip in your next job. We will miss hearing you and working with you at the games.

Nice win Coach Hinson and the Saints. Was this the same St. Henry that Mason co opened with in the 2003 state tourny?

Yep. The St. Henry team had a core group of guys that had played together for years. Just their luck to catch Mason County in Round 1; and still almost pulled off the upset.

Great game to both teams, but I can see why there was so many free throw attempted. Bellevue traveled down there last year and the stripes called foul after foul all game on both teams.. I believed 3 Bellevue players fouled out and one St Pat player.. It seems like other than NKY the zeb's don't let any physical play happen...
