I hope so! The main thing that has kept Mason from beating Montgomery County in the tourney at least once for the past three years has been depth.

Depth has been a issue in years past, I would hope those supporters would come out game in and game out for a true evaluation as this season progresses on. Mason County has already been hit by some sickness, those key players are on the road to recovery, but it might just work out for the best as a program whole. This has given the program no choice but to throw some kids into the mix and Mason County will be better because of it. Trust me these 3 seniors are locked in on a goal.

I usually make about 5 or 6 home games each year as well as the tourney games. Maybe not game in and game out, but I try to get to a fair sampling - several of the district and region matchups; the occasional interesting out-of-region matchup (Boone County, the LexCath and Scott county games), as well as the tourney games.

I'd like to see the home opener against our buddy Coach C., but I'll be in Lexington.

I seriously hope that the depth is there this year. The Scott County gane last year was a great example. The Lady Royals played extremely well; then Dee had asthma issues and we simply got worn down. I'm not saying that we could have beat Scott County, but what an exciting game it was for a while.

I know that the three seniors have their eye on the prize!

I think you and most everyone else could be in for a surprise as far as Mason basically having no one else outside of the big 3.

I've seen what they have outside the big 3, and that is just your average role player.

I just wanted to make a short statement about the 4 teams in the 10th. that seem to be the forgotten step child. When they talk about top players in the 10th. they forget about Kitchen and Bowling at Campbell, they forget about Brown, Tibbs, and Benzinger at Scott. Brossart gets mentioned occasionally and it was nice to see that someone saw that Calvery won their first game. Nobody even noticed that Scott beat Nicholas Cty. 65 to 38 with the three mentioned all in double figures. I realized this is the beginning of the season and all of the teams mentioned like Mason, Montgomery, Clark, Paris are good teams but they are not the only teams with some talent. If the talent at Scott jells this year this could be very interesting.

Good point. You are just experiencing the reverse on what most of us experience with the NKY coverage. The Masons, the Grants, the Pendletons, are overlooked and not thought of. In the Post rankings, Pendleton and Grant are not allowed to have votes tallied for them.

While those players are good and those teams are good, they are not in the class of Mason and Montgomery. To me, those 2 teams are a little bit separated from the rest until some other school beats them out and claims a spot up there with those two.

The northern district could be interesting. Brossart lost to Ludlow. Scott just spanked Ludlow.

Mason's wins are

Nov 30, '07 Ripley, OH Mason County 86 - 44 (W) Lady Royal Mt. Dew Classic

Dec 1, '07 Pendleton County Mason County 86 - 57 (W) Lady Royal Mt. Dew Classic

Dec 3, '07 Bracken County Bracken County 85 - 49 (W)

Montgomery's is

Nov 30, '07 Notre Dame Notre Dame 67 - 50 (W)

Dec 3, '07 Woodford County Woodford County 57 - 48 (W)

Seems early advantage goes to Montgomery with two quality wins over Mason's three romps.

You beat who is on your schedule and Mason Co has done that. :D

Montgomery County beat two teams that might make the semifinals of their region, if not the finals. That is quality.

They may have, but Mason won there games too. They played who was on there schedule. Mason may have beat less than average teams but they beat them by about 35.

Seems that Mason and Montgomery has separated themselves out as the two top teams.

The next level includes: Paris, Bourbon, Harrison, Scott, GRC

And then you have, the are they for real teams: Brossart gets spanked by Ludlow, barely and probably shouldn't have beat Campbell but destroys Bracken, and Campbell County, St. Patrick

Next level of teams that could make runs: Pendleton, Bracken, Nicholas
