Notes: Corey Robinson broke the Kentucky record for most completions in a season (303) and now has 328. His 33 completions and 51 pass attempts are career highs. He also is the first Kentucky player to surpass 5,000 passing yards in a season and now has 5,128. ... Jamarielle Brown's 13 receptions were a single-game career high, as was Daniel Edwards' 11 catches. Brown's 25 touchdown receptions this season stand tied for third all-time in the state, three short of the record. His 1,694 receiving yards are third all-time. Brown's kickoff return touchdown was his first of the season, as he ran back a punt for a touchdown at Obion Central. ... Travis Hickman's interception return touchdown was his third of the season. ... Lone Oak hosts Warren East in the state semifinals on Friday.

That was pretty bad! I just think it was a natural reaction to catch the ball but a referee should know better. The phantom pass interference against Robinson was worse though in my opinion.

 

Yes that one was also a joke and both myself and statmanhensley said so when it happened.... Again express my thanks to WPSD-TV for showing the two games on-line. While I don't live in the Purchase Area my daughter does go to Murray State and not only loves the University but the area too...... Good luck to Lone Oak....

North Bullitt's RB Dalton Cissell has now rushed for just over 5,000 yds in his 3 yr varsity career and should finish his career in the top 10 all-time if not the top 5. He has a 144 yd average rushing yds per game over 35 varsity games. He will likely carry the ball about 35-40 times per game next year after averaging about 21 carries per game this year.

Congrats on the nice season North Bullitt ... in the 2nd half it was the usual things that cost NB the game. Turnovers, Reynolds trying to do everything himself, and stupid personal fouls.

 

Cissell should of had about 40 carries Friday night.

 

Very fun game to watch, I may have to tune in to the Lone Oak - Warren East game Friday if it is webcast also.

Just now getting a chance to weigh in on this one ...

 

On North Bullitt ... a fine team. Had a tremendous defensive gameplan that shut down Lone Oak's passing game for most of the first half and forced them to come back from down 19-0. Lone Oak had to make some adjustments, and it took them quite a while to get into an offensive rhythm.

 

R.D. Reynolds, for my money, was the best player on the field for much of the game. He's an athlete and a tough kid that can make plays, and he was impressive running and throwing the ball. His only downside, as mh2365 alluded to, was trying to do too much. He made a bad decision to try and throw the ball while he was going down, and the ill-advised pass was run back for a touchdown and gave Lone Oak the momentum early in the fourth quarter.

 

Dalton Cissell is an impressive tailback. I don't know that he's a Division I-A prospect as a running back, but he's a heck of a high school player. He's strong and gets tough yards.

 

As for Lone Oak ... everybody hears about Corey Robinson, and the praise he gets is deserved. But I'm starting to adopt Daniel Edwards (#2, a receiver and cornerback, for those that saw the webcast) as one of my favorite players. He's just a tough little guy that gets the absolute most out of his ability.

 

Lone Oak's defense had some tackling issues early, but rose up and made some big stands in the fourth quarter.

 

This game was a tribute to Lone Oak's coach, Jack Haskins, and his staff. They had to make some adjustments and kept the players focused and ready to rally from a 19-0 deficit. Haskins has been a heck of a coach for a long time, and his work at Lone Oak has shown that he hasn't lost a step and his competitive fire and burning desire to coach football.

 

What a night for Lone Oak people. This was once one of western Kentucky's worst programs, and now they're within one more win of playing for a state title. I can't imagine that many Lone Oakers thought they would ever see that happen.

Yes that "sandlot do over call" has to be one of the worst I have seen in all my years of watching football.
