Good to hear, they did have one kid that you can tell spends a ton of time with a basketball. He was wheeling and dealing the only problem was the other boys were not in tune with his no look passes and he was a one man show out there.

 

Yes, he is a player. He plays up with the 8th grade team sometimes and played over the summer with the incoming freshman at Boone. He will be something to talk about in a few years.

Pendleton's 7th Grade team won the 6th Grade NKMSBL last year going undefeated in the league and tournament. They should be a team to watch again this year.

Highlands plays St. Mary's in the St. Henry Tournament semis on Friday night. I know of a few kids on that team that are good players. Outside of that, depth will have to be an issue for them being private. Highlands goes 10 deep and plays intense pressure man-man with a lot of athleicism. I 'm hoping it a good game.

Its a 7th grade tourney. Highlands plays St. Mary in the upper bracket semi and St. Joe's crescent Springs played St. Paul tonight to see who advances to play Tichenor. The winner of that game will play the Highlands winner. Highlands already beat Tichenor last saturday by 10 or 12, forgot.

Onlya few played in that with some of the 8th graders but I gotta tell you, those games they played in that league showed nothing. Most of those kids were in burnout stage/playing football or just disinterested at the time and the way the courts and rims were set up it was tough to get into it. I almost pulled the plug on that after the 3rd game. Slick courts, tough rims and small area to maneuver. Out of bounds was 1/2 foot then you hit a chainlink fence.

Newport's 7th Grade team is probably the most talented out of Newport's middle school program this year. They did struggle last year and I think that may have been because it was their first year coming together. They have good speed, ball control, and height under the rim.

All I can say is Twin Towers would look very good.

The purple 7th graders from Campbell County will be pretty strong this year.

St. Marys vs Highlands 7th grade

If you were there on Friday it was a great 7th grade basketball game! Highlands came out on top 44-43 but it was back and forth the whole game and could have went either way. Would love to see a rematch. Great game to the whole group of boys on both sides!

Amen, in fact I am hoping that these two teams can work out a possible scrimmage over the Christmas holidays or something. Two teams that played their hearts out and made each other better. I am sure both teams will go back to the drawing board next week and work on some things that were exposed.
