Lloyd Carr

The only reason I've even rooted for Michigan is because of Carr, I've always backed him and thought the early season rantings from fans and people on this board were far too premature, the guy is a great coach.

Everyone seems to forget that Michigan is absolutely loaded and thats why they were ranked 5th preseason. Granted he has put together an impresive streak, but he has still underperformed and so COA honors aren't instore for him. Maybe someone like Mark Mangino of Kansas or Mike Bellotti from Oregon.

Carr has done a great job and he should be in the Coach of the Year running.

You must be kidding, He is winning games in that same "weak" conference that Ohio State plays. :rolleyes:

COY candidates this year:

1 - Mangino - Kansas

2 - Belotti - Oregon

3 - Edsell - UConn

4 - Brooks - UK

It is hard to argue against any one of those. All are surprises, and like you pointed out before, coaches of programs that just rebuild are not generally given a lot of attention for this award. It is normally a 'surprise' team. My personal favorite is Brooks, but my realistic favorite would be Belotti at Oregon. I thought they would be good, but they have been fantastic this season.

I think Carr will lose to OSU and get blown out in a bowl game.

I like Michigan though, so hopefully this is Carrs last year.

As an Ohio State Buckeye Football fan, let me say that I would love to see and I fully support Lloyd Carr to remain as the Head Football Coach at Michigan. :D

:ylsuper:: :lol:

No way should he be in the coach of the year running...He had a top 5 team in the country to start the year, and lost to a 1AA team and got killed by another team, both games in their own stadium..He shouldn't be rewarded for finally getting this team playing the way it should have to start the season...

I agree.
