Rock should win. Whitley has struggled all year but are very close to having a good team. Some years every thing goes wrong and Whitley has been there this year. I expect a reversal of fortune next year and would be surprised if Whitley didn't win at least 7 next year. As kids get older they seem to find a way to win. This is a young team who will learn from this year and put those lessons to good use.

Yeah the record last year was about the same, but it was a different team, with lots of seniors. This year they only have 10, but only a handfull play big time roles.

 

The line is 4 sophs and one senior.

The backfield is two juniors (one of which playing his first full year since entering high school)one Soph, and one Senior, who was splitting time with the missing QB. Senior wideout and junior wideout.

 

Defensively the Colonels only returned two starters from last year, and one of them (who was probably the best defender) is now gone with an injury.

 

Expectations were higher and the Colonels fell short, no doubt. Last year they fought through a bunch of injuries and a tough schedule, this years schedule was just as tough if not tougher, but a break here and there, and this would be a no brainer. Whiltey will be just fine, and they will continue to get bigger numbers, both in wins and in players.

 

No excuses, Whitley has not played to the level many expected, youth or not, but come Friday night they will be there in uniform and ready to go. Win lose or draw (of course that can't happen with the overtime rule) I will be there cheering.

Rockcastle has been down this year but they won't finish with a losing regular season record. Not at home against an inconsistent, mediocre Whitley Co. team. Rockets 28-Colonels 14.

That is what I like about you Apex, no matter the circumstances, you do your best to cheer on your team! I wish the radio guys would learn a thing or two from you! Whitley has been down this year, but they did not fair that well with the last head coach either, I mean one district in 15 yrs! The number of players has always been somewhere between 30-60! Anyway, good luck tonight against the Rock!
