They would have the most trouble with team that have dual threat QB's

I think UK is good enough to beat any of those teams. I also think UK could lose to any of those teams.

 

I also agree with Jim Schue...really good defensive teams that are questionable on offense present the most favorable matchups for UK.

 

I think Oregon and West Virginia would be the worst matchups for UK, because they have great offenses lead by big time dual threat QB's...worst-case scenario for UK.

 

On the flipside, a team like VaTech would be a nice matchup for UK, IMO.

 

As for the rest, like I said, I think UK could win or lose against any of those teams.

 

1. Ohio State - Haven't been tested so we don't know how good they really are...I think UK could put up points...my question is how good is the OSU offense?

 

2. Boston College - Again...I'm not sure how good they are because of their competition. I think Matt Ryan is a very good QB, but I really think UK is better than this team.

 

3. Oklahoma - Up and down...they can look like the best team in the nation at times and then lose to Colorado...UK would be an underdog against OU.

 

4. Oregon - Possibly the worst matchup for UK on this list...I'd expect something similar to the Florida game.

 

5. Arizona State - Sorry, I just don't know enough about them to say much...this game could go either way is my guess.

 

6. West Virginia - The only reason I think the Oregon matchup is worse is because their passing game is a little better than West Virginia...but I could be wrong, because the speed of Slaton and White might be more of a mismatch. Again, I'd expect something like the Florida game.

 

7. Virginia Tech - Unless our special teams killed us, I think we'd beat VaTech.

 

8. USC - From what I've seen of USC, I'd probably favor UK in this matchup. Similar to LSU, IMO...strong run game, passing game is questionable, good defense...biggest difference is that USC is less athletic at the QB position, which is good for UK.

 

9. USF - Tough game...I've been impressed with the Bulls this year despite the loss to Rutgers. I'd have to go 60/40 UK.

 

10. Kansas - Again, haven't seen them...but I'll take UK. I'm just not a believer in Kansas (they probably say the same thing about us :lol:).

 

11. Missouri - Tough game, kinda like USF, I'll take UK 60/40.

 

12. Hawaii - Kentucky, no doubt. I'd expect Joker to feel like he was playing PS3 calling plays in this game.

 

13. Texas - I haven't been impressed with the Horns. I think Kentuck is better...although they certainly have enough talent to beat us.

 

14. Cal - If Cal is completely healthy, this one's close to a toss-up in my book.

 

15. Michigan - I'd give UK a slight nod in this one, although I think Michigan is a much better team than many believe due to those first two losses.

They could beat any of them, they could lose to any of them. That's just the way college football is.

 

Give me a little latitude here. Uk is have a fine season, but you have to realize they are 2 PLAYS away from POSSIBLY being a 4-4 football team, mired in mediocrity and looking at a lower tier bowl.

 

If U of L doesn't have a complete and total Defensive melt down and let a reciever go unguarded down the field, Louisville might possibly hang on for a win.

 

If an LSU tightend doesn't get a case of stonehands and let a sure TD bounce off his fingers, LSU goes up 31-14 and takes all the momentum in that game and possibly goes to victory.

 

So UK is able to beat anyone in the top 15, but also capeable of being beat by anyone in the top 25 or 30. (South Carolina already topped them, and they are now ranked lower.)

UK could beat anybody on that list if their D played a solid game.

I'd say any of the teams listed above against UK would be worth the price of admission this year. Now next year I'm not sure we'll be able to say that.

I agree with a couple of those, and disagree with a few as well..I agree UK would have a hard time with Oregon, and WVU because that dang spread gives UK all kinds of problems, just look at the Florida game...However I dont see where you think UK would have a hard time playing with OSU, Missouri, and Michigan..All of those games are games UK would match up pretty darn good with...

 

So other than Oregon and WVU. (Who I think UK could beat, but would have the hardest time with.) I think UK would definitely play with all of them and have a great chance to win those games...

 

Because Missouri is good. Daniel is one of the top 5 QB's in the country. Michigan, all you have to say is Mike Hart. IMO the best RB in the country. Ohio State, the defense. We have seen OSU's O struggle this year but the D hasn't.

How can you respect a process that has Hawaii in the poll?? Although that isnt a knock against the kids from Hawaii....they are doing all that is asked of them, but, honestly, how good can they be??

You are absolutely right about the UK season but I felt obligated to say something here. As a LONG suffering, never wavering, UK fan, I have watched those "one play" games go against KY for so long that is only poetic justice that we get a few. When they lost to LSU in the "Bluegrass Miracle", I was watching with my grown son who was celebrating before LSU took the field and I warned him that UK has a way of breaking your heart. SO, any breaks or "one play" wonders that we get, we dang sure deserve!!
