October 26, 200718 yr Not even sure it was Buzz. Didn't a friend call Buzz after he was turned down by another recruit. And Buzz settled on C-Lo after a friend of Buzz' had called? That friend was Rodney Woods.
October 26, 200718 yr Just curious, but what does that acronym IMAO mean? Should have gone with "In my astute opinion."
October 26, 200718 yr Should have gone with "In my astute opinion." Come on now. Like 3 of us have even heard that word before. :sssh:
October 26, 200718 yr In reference to how many games UT has on CBS to what UK has.....its pretty simple, UK basketball has been UK basketball a heck of a lot longer than UT basketball in their dominance. This is no different than UT womens basketball and the respect they get and national attention on major network games televised whereas we never see the UK LadyCats on CBS. Another example is UT football, they have gotten those games in past years where Kentucky football hasn't. It all goes back to the tradition which is built from winning, the number of fans in the stands and your dominance over the years. UT football, UT Lady Vols have both had that success in those two sports over the years, the mens basketball program hasn't until the last couple of years. In Bruce Pearls comments, it seems like this is all about Bruce Pearl and what he wants. I think my statements above are justified as one of UT's games on CBS is agains UK in March.
October 26, 200718 yr I don't think CBS is the only tv station on the tube is it?I liked what the Vanderbilt coach said,It didn't bother him any the last time he counted UK had more championships than all the rest of the teams combined.
October 26, 200718 yr I am a big UK fan and I like Pearl. He stated what he felt was true and it is true. It is all about history. Notre Dame football is on live National TV every week and they stink!! No difference, it is all about viewership. Many UK fans watch to see their team win, every one else watches to cheer for UK to lose. Viewership equals dollars.
October 27, 200718 yr Just locker room fodder...no big deal...he still has to put his team on the floor and play for 40 minutes..let's see what he's got besides sour grapes. That said, what he said was true, but how many times has Tennesee football ruled the airways in the last 10-15 years. Once the shape of the ball changes, the networks follow the money.Business is business!
October 27, 200718 yr Like I said he acts like he got Lofton. And it was a guys named Buzz Peterson that got C-Lo! Yeah, and he did NOTHING with the Vols.
