Not to change the subject but a quick question of nl fans, the 6'5" kid who played receiver and safety last year did he go on to play college ball anywhere? He hit Clint Greene so hard last year I had tears in my eyes! Just wondering...... Hope Clark can get the magic going before play-offs need to address SEVERAL coaching issues and take control of a team that seems undisciplined at times.

Good Luck Cards!

The young man in question was Shawn Asher about 6'4" and 210 lbs. He graduated, but I know the hit of which you speak, ... it was nasty and was one of the biggest 'OOOOHHHH' hits I saw last season. It was on a deep pass play across the middle and flipped the GRC kid head over heels.

Shortly after graduation, he was assaulted with a lead pipe and a baseball bat by 2-3 individuals and was in ICU at UK Hospital for quite some time. With God's blessing, he pulled through and is recovering nicely. When I spoke with him a few weeks ago, his plans are to walk on at UK in the fall. He was going to walk on this past season, but after the incident, was not well enough to attend college. He is looking forward to getting back on the football field for the Cats next year as long as all goes according to plan.

I'm glad Shawn still plans to play football, I read about the assault and I did'nt hear anymore about. What about Chris Maggard, were is he playing football at, this kid had some speed on him.

GRC by 14.

North will stay with them from till the 4th then GRC will get the two go ahead touchdowns.

Several smaller colleges were interested in him, however, they did not have the engineering program that UK has so Maggard decided to just be a student at UK.

I remember that hit. It was felt in the stands, but Greene got back up and continued playing.

Hope that Asher is able to walk-on for the Cats next year after bouncing back from the assualt.

Looking for this to be another hard hitting game. N.Laurel on Senior Night won't be lock by any means.

I was VERY impressed when Greene got up and kept playing. Showed a lot of toughness on that play.

I'm pertty sure Coach Abbott, will have the JAGs ready to play, Justin Jones, played QB last year as a soph, for NL, Clark Co, never gave him time sit up and pass.

GRC has done a great job the past few years in getting pressure on the NL QB's, not allowing them get off anything deep and limiting them to short passes. This year's O line seems to be doing a better job in protecting the QB, however, I am sure GRC will be bringing the heat on Friday. I will be there and look forward to an exciting game and hopefully a Jags win!

GRC had some success against Shelby by keeping heat on the QB. I hope they can keep the pressure on the QB.

GRC pass defense will need to keep sharp.

Sorry, you are mistaken. NL's QB was Adrian Wardrup last year when we played Clark Co. He was a freshman and is now a sophomore and is still the QB. Justin Jones hasn't played QB since he got some kind of injury early in the 2006 season. I think the Jones kid may have played some QB this year vs. Corbin due to an illness Wardrup had, but Wardrup did end up in the game and Jones went to receiver.

I do agree however that the Clark Co. defense put some major heat on Wardrup in the game last year, and the NL QB's in general the past few years. If I'm not mistaken, NL had several turnovers in the game last year.

I'm looking for a different NL team this go 'round. The Jags are HUNGRY for a win, and there's no better time than Senior Night for them to pull off the upset. Go Jags!!!

The biggest upset ever pulled by a NL team was on senior night 2 seasons ago. There couldn't be a better night to pick up their first win then their last game of the season at The Jungle!

That was the big win against Madison Central right? Double Over-time?

Yes. I was there. Unbelievable game from beginning to end. I saw a parent take picture of the scoreboard in the 1st quarter when NL went up saying that this way his son could say they led MC during the game. Little did they know that the scoreboard pic at the end would be the one to go in the scrapbook!!! Coach Abbott was in tears after the game from the emotions of that win. Hope he sheds tears of joy this friday as well against GRC, ... but I am biased!!! It these Jags show the same amount of heart that those Jags showed (and a few of these kids played that night), ... they can have a wonderful senior night.
