Dixie 48 Scott 7

Featured Replies

In what has been an up and down season, Dixie earns the #2 spot in the playoffs.

It was a pretty good game for Dixie. Bricking had a pretty good game. He got away with 2 passes, in which one ended up being a touchdown as the receiver made a nice catch amongst 3 defenders in the endzone. He also threw some very nice balls which were dropped, so his completion percentage tonight should've been much higher. Marty ran very well as usual. He has been very impressive this year and has really stepped up his senior year. The defense was getting to the QB causing him to force some throws and throw it away.

Scott struggled to get anything going. They had a few nice plays, but just couldn't get anything going. They were able to punch it in late in the game. Their kids never quit. For those that follow Scott, have they always ran a 3 man front and do they always setup that wide?

I did hear a lot of complaining from the Scott and Dixie fans tonight during the 3rd quarter as Dixie still had their starters out there. Scott fans were complaining they were running up the score. Dixe fans were complaining about risking the health of their starters. For once, I'm going to defend Spritzky's doings. :D This offense has been so up and down this year, they need to gain some confidence and consistency going into the playoffs. They weren't running any special plays, just their basic offense. Game situations are the best way to work on things. The last TD resulted in one heck of a run and effort by Marty. I'm sure Spritzky wasn't trying to run up the score. Heck, if he wanted too, he could've had them in the hurry up at the end of the first half, but didn't.

Good game by Dixie. Congrats on getting the #2 seed in the playoffs...

So, will it be Dixie and Cov Cath & Highlands and Holmes in the 1st round playoff games?

Nope. Highlands will play Scott.

Scott making it to the playoffs for the second time in school history is a big step for the football program. I know its a tough district and the first game will be against the favor to win the state championship IMO but still proud of them for fighting hard this year and making it. Still have two big games left against some teams they can beat if they come to play, so they need to take one game at a time before they make the trip back to Fort Thomas to take on the Bluebirds.

I noticed prior to the game, Scott runs through some offensive sets, and the defense actually hits and tackles. However, it's not done at full speed by all players. Some seem to go hard, while others kind a just go through the motions. To me, it seems like the perfect opportunity to get someone injured. Have they always done this, and has anyone ever gotten hurt?

Good post. It's tough enough to make one trip to Ft. Thomas, in a season let alone two, but Scott should be proud to make the dance. Good luck.

I just found it very odd that they would do this, let alone allow some to just go through the motions and others go all out.

Nobody really thought Scott would win did they???
