Mercer will handled South Laurel. In fact, I'm predicting right now that Mercer is the last team standing in this district after round two of the playoffs.

You're right Joe, just because a team throws for over 300 yards, doesn't necissarily mean a lot.....if it did, Hal Mumme would have had a 50 something game win streak when he was at UK and Texas Tech would never be beat.

 

It's amazing how ironic things are......If a team rushes for over 300 yards in a high school game, v.s a team that throws for 300, the team that rushes for that amount, 9 out of 10 times, wins.

 

...at the same time, it's a shame that South's QB, Bowling, isn't a couple, few inches taller, if so, everybody and their mother would be after him! Great QB! Great Competitor!

South beat a pretty good Knox Central team last week but I don't see them beating Mercer. Mercer will control the ball and play enough D to get the win. Hopefully South will pull the upset but I don't look for it.

Allusedup it does not really matter if I had a dog in the fight or not I paid my membership just as you did so therefore that gives me a right to make my prediction. I can say Mercer by 100 if I wanted to. Thanks for having concern though.

Let's not forget that this is not the same Mercer team from last year. UK lost to LSU 49-0 last year, but this year was different.

 

Bowling is an EXCELLENT HS QB and South will put up some points, more than many think. I just hope they can stop the run. If they can, they have a shot. If not, they don't.

Mercer will roll in this one.

Bowling and Co to control the clock with the PASS & screen game...keeps the MC O off the field...but doesn't get in the zone much....I say twice and throws for 300+ again....in a losing cause again. 28-14...14-14 at the half...MC has been slow to start this season...strong to finish.
