Marshall Co 1st and 3rd???

What has Grayson County done to earn a vote?

 

Two things went into my decision to rate Grayson Co. and not Warren Central. In my mind those were the two squads battling it out for #10. I give Warren Central their props for playing a tough schedule, but the fact that they did have a losing record and Grayson Co., is 5-2 and seem to have steadily improved. The next thing I looked at was common opponents and there were two that stood out Barren Co., and Bowling Green. Barren Co. beat Grayson early in the season 21-2 and then Warren Central recently beat them 41-19. To me this evened the tally sheet at 1-1. So my deciding reason was the fact that Grayson and Warren Central were both blown out by Bowling Green, but Grayson played my #1 closer (63-13)than WC (62-6) did. To me this made the tally sheet 2-1 in favor of Grayson, so this week I went with Grayson. Thats not to say that it won't change next week if WC keeps winning like they have been.

You mean to tell me you actually recognize that Barren County beat Grayson, at Grayson and that Central beat them to death, and somehow believe that equals out to 1-1? Additionally, I don't know what qualifies as early in the season to you, but Week 4 is not early. Week 4 is midseason. And it was all of TWO WEEKS before Central beat Barren County and believe me, it was not as close as 41-19.

 

One of the teams Grayson County has beaten is winless, and one of the others only has a win by virtue of a forfeit (they lost 55-6). Their wins are over opponents that are a combined 12-27 (12-22 if you want to remove the losses). Their losing record comes against the #4 team in 6A, the #3 team in 5A, the #1 team in 5A and a team that was ranked #9 when they played. If Grayson County plays Warren Central's schedule, they're 0-7. I'll see you next week after Warren Central has absolutely obliterated Grayson County.

Warren Central will not obliterate Grayson but will beat them soundly.

My thinking is that DC has played everyone of those teams tough. Owensboro, my team, beat them 31-7. But we scored 2 defensive touchdowns, and set up another score. So take away 2 TD's and the score is 17-7. That is a lot closer. The Marshall game don't know too much about except if they would have shut down or even contained Alan Williams, they would have been fine. They just played awful against Graves. It can go alot of different ways. I just think they are better then those 3 losses. Another team no one mentions and they have won 2 in a row, Henderson, even though I hate to say it.

Brain cramp ... the Purples are a clear #1.

The Marshall game don't know too much about except if they would have shut down or even contained Alan Williams, they would have been fine. They just played awful against Graves.

Graves managed to beat Marshall even with Williams having a big game. Graves also had some injuries and still managed to beat Daviess on the road.

Good gosh ... what convoluted logic.

 

The schedules aren't comparable, so the records don't matter. And I fail to see how a 41-point swing that favors Warren Central gets negated by a trifle difference in the margin of defeat aganst Bowling Green.

Could have been a better game three weeks ago. Grayson Co. lost their starting quarterback to a broken collarbone later that same week, lost their starting split end and corner to a broken collarbone. Grayson can compete but Central wins this one on big plays.

Grayson isn't in the same ballpark with Warren Central, even if healthy.

What can I say, they let me down. His logic was still insane.

 

There are things about this game that I would not have believed would happen unless I'd seen them. For one, I'd have never imagined a 15 play, 75 yard drive that took nearly 10 minutes off of the clock in the first quarter by Grayson. Just absolutely removed all the energy from the Central sideline and they slogged their way through the rest of it.

 

I also didn't see a QB change coming after the first series of the second half considering the starting QB had thrown for 3 TDs in the first half and was quite successful.

 

This game was an embarassment for me because I put myself out there with statements like that one, but an embarassment as well because I felt that Central played nowhere near the game they should have. Scored on 4 of their 5 posessions of the first half and then failed to string together even two first downs in the second because they played the backup QB the entire second half. I just do not get what they're doing some of the time.
