I heard UK was actively encouraging May to walk on to play TE. It is also my understanding they WILL NOT offer a scholly.

Personally (with admitted bias) I could just May working hard within the system, being a valuable practice player and eventually earning some PT.

Any injury/game status updates for the Pirates?

If Belfry is reasonably healthy, I'll take the Pirates, something like 31-17.

Belfry Injuries

FB/LB Dustin May- Probable (Knee)

FB/LB Charlie Dotson- Probable (Neck)

HB/S Thomas Varney- ? (Knee)

NG/OL Randy Webb- ? (Elbow)

All 4 start on defense, 2 start on offense, Varney is one of a handful of backs that rotate at halfback, Dotson was May's top replacement at FB.

May will not be 100% come Friday, but you will see the kid give a 100% effort.

PIRATES ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!:fight::fight::fight:

Alright, this threead has been surprisingly dead, time to do a little analyzation:

KEYS TO VICTORY

BELFRY

1. Play Football- The biggest obstacles for this Pirate team may not even exist on the field. This has been a game marked on the Pirate's schedule since the Cardinals shocked them in an amazing combeack last season. Needless to say emotions are alread high, but additionally, it is Homecoming, Haywood is going for his 300th Win, this game decides the District Title (regular season), ultimately gives the winner a decisive playoff advantage with homefield advantage until the Pizaa Box (aside from the regional finals), and the added pressure of this being the WYMT Game of The Week. Belfry has looked sluggish and uninspired since the Pikeville game, leaving one to wonder if Belfry is starting to fall victim to press clippings.

2. Playing A Little Less- Belfry has quite a few key injuries, but it appears that all those injured will be suting up despite not being at 100%. This phrase also applies to the Pirate starters lack of playing time thsis eason. Belfry starters have not seen a 4th Quarter snap since Week1 vs. Corbin, and even then they didn't play the full fourth quarter. SC on the other hand have had a few games in which they were challenged until late in the 4th. The Pirates must waste as small of energy as possible in the first half, or else it leaves this game open for SC to make a 4th Quarter comeback such as last season.

3.Patience Pays- SC wants a slow pace, a fast clock, and a low score. Belfry is averaging over 40 points a game and are used to quick strikes. The Pirates must stay patient on offense and take what SC gives them and make every drive count. The one thignt he Pirates cannot afford to do is try to go for the homerun and either committ a turnover, or put themselves in long yardage situations.

SHELDON CLARK

1. Make Big Mo Yo's- This agme will be packed, and be full of emotion. SC knwos they can defeat Belfry and need to play with confidence, but they also must control momentum. The easiest way is to neutralize the Pirate crowd by making this a slow down game and driving the football on long 13-17 play drives. Committing penalties and turnovers will be an inmstant downfall.

2. Dial 'Em Out- Everyone knows that SC's heart beats with Adam Dials, especially Belfry. The Pirate Dwill make life very difficult for Dials so it is important for SC to utilize their other weapons in Hensley and Kelley, in association with a heavy dose of playfakes and playaction. SC has no chance if Dials caries the ball 3 out of 4 plays.

3. Be Big- SC has a size advantage on Belfry, they not only need to utilizie it, but they need to focus on it. Offensively SC needs t lay on the Belfry DL and fatigue them to the point it will affect them on both sides of the ball, defensively SC needs to plug the middle and force Belfryto try to beat them outside, something no team has been able to do so far.

This game worries me because of all the uncontrollables associated with it, but I honestly feel Belfry will win a fast moving game:

Very fair analysis.....and the game worries me from the standpoint of injuries. Belfry is a vunerable in a few key areas.....and will definitely need to get inspired performances from not only the starters...but also reserves who may be thrust into a precarious situation with the district title and home field advantage on the line.

With that being said.....No way does Belfry go down...at home.... Haywood and staff are too good to let these kids get too high and come out unfocused. Despite the injuries....I believe you may see the best game Belfry's played all year.
