Maybe what he means is that LCA is obviously the best in the district and the others, including Raceland, are much more closely matched?? Good teams, not great.

 

Very true Raceland is average like most teams in the area, LCA is the best and will continue to be.

By the way and getting back to the game.........I saw the highlights on WKYT news last night and the excellent run by the Paris kid. That young man definately has some "wheels". :eek:

Your being concervitive. The way I understand it, is a copy of this game is going to be in Frankfort this week. This was the second time Raceland has had this officiating crew (last year against Fairview). I am not saying anything about Paris, they played well and had nothing to do with the officials. But, this officiating crew does not know how to call a football game, and should not work together.

 

One penalty, Raceland was called for delay of game when the ball had not been blown ready for play, the Raceland offense was just standing their waiting on the officials and a delay was whistled.

 

It took the referee way to long to mark the ball, and shorted almost every carry, on both sides of the ball.

 

The third quarter lasted 1 hour 15 minutes, and Raceland had the ball about 1 hour of that time on one single drive. On one occasion Raceland ran a first down 5 times for another first and had it called back all 5 times.

 

It took the crew way to long to decide what the penalty was after the flag was thrown, and on several occasions they stepped off the improper yardage after the call.

 

I don't believe anyone on BGP has heard me complain about an officiating crew except for this one, twice. This crew is horrible and should not be officiating football. I hope that action is taken against this crew. I am just glad this was not a close game or this crew could have cost someone the game.

I am fan of football in general and in no way shape or form is Raceland that great, they have some nice players and have a great coaching staff but they are not great. They are in the middle of the pack with the rest of the district, doesn't matter because LCA is rolling over all the teams in the district anyhow.

I remember that crew being talked about after the Faiview game last season. From all the comments that I heard about them is they weren't deliberately "slighting" anyone - just did not know how to call a football game.

First let me say that I whole heartedly support and root for every school in our area, but I really don't believe yahoo83 is putting Raceland down guys. I may be wrong, but I believe yahoo83 is saying that Raceland has a good program, but Raceland, and every other team in this area have shown, with Russell being the exception, that they are simply a level or so below the top programs through out the state. I believe that has been proved in the playoffs on a consistent basis on a yearly basis. I believe the rest of the state sees the teams in our area as being average teams. It's not a knock on Raceland or the other area schools, but until the schools in our area show that they can advance far into the playoffs, it's going to stay that way.

The losses Raceland have were w/o their starting running backs and linebackers, I understand LCA is a very good team but, they will probably meet again, If you saw the Fairview game then you know even w/o our players the game was not as close as the score indicates, an if my memory is correct this season is moving along just like last year an I'm sure you remember what happened in Lexington then

I can agree with you, to a certain extent. With your well thought out and complete explanation. But, yahoo and some others have a way of stating some truth in a deliberate and condescending manner. I, as well as you, can say a team has a problem or lost or is not as good as some one else - doing it in a constructive manner. But, when you state things in a degrading manner, in an obvious attempt to down play a teams ability, that is just stirring the pot.

 

Now, for Raceland's level of play. Raceland is better then some people would ever admit. To start with the two games Raceland has lost come without both RB's and all three LB's. And as for people comparing scores, you are fooling yourself. Raceland is probably not going to score 40 points this year, when Raceland is winning by 14 or more, the coaching staff starts working on different things, not trying to score a whole lot more - different combinations, and schemes.

 

As for this area versus the rest of the state. Raceland, as well as several other teams, have had some very good teams, but lost to the eventual state champ in the first two rounds of the playoffs. With the new allignment you will see a lot of teams from this district going deep in the playoffs, maybe not this year, but you will see it. Most people will say, that this district is all of a sudden doing well, but the fact is that this district has always been good, just facing the best team in the state early in the playoffs.

Two completly different teams, can't compare years you should know that being a football guy like yourself, geez man watch the game no team around here is great other than Russell. All teams can beat each other around here including your Rams getting beat by East Carter, just like turnovers are part of the game, injuries are too. I am done talking about this topic, support the team you want to support. I am entitled to my opinion just like yourself. Good luck to the Rams against Paintsville this week.:fire:
