While alot of this years team doesn't have much varsity experience as a whole, I do recall the jv team being fairly good last year. While this doesn't necesarily translate to the varsity level, I think it does give a little optimism to this team. I think this whole team is built for big things for the 2008/2009 class...

Would tend to agree...I could see Scott being a .500 team this season and gaining a lot of experience and making a run deep into regionals next season.

I remember Tyler Baker from his Calvary days and he could definitely score but I also don't remember him guarding anyone. If he buys into Coach Carr's defensive philosophy and plays hard on both ends of the court he is an all region caliber player.

The transfer from Holy Cross is kind of an unknown at this point. He is a senior so he hasn't been in the system. If this team is being built to make a big run next year having a one year senior taking minutes from those juniors and younger players isn't helping.

I haven't heard about the Holy Cross kid. Who is he? Is he any good?

Aaron Brown, Don't know much about him. Scott will surprise people this year in the 10th, being that it is down, everyone has a chance. Look for the eagles to start slow but finish strong.

I hope you are right!

Totally agree with you. Have seen him play a few times this summer, even played with him once.

Scott might start off a little slow but Coach Carr will have them ready to compete as the season progresses. This years team will surprise some people. I think Adkins will be the floor general and everything will run through him. I just hope we finally get to see Baker play and see if he lives up to all the hype.

Scott did lose alot of offense from last years team but I think this group this year will play team oriented ball more. Good luck Eagles on your season!!!!!!

If everything runs through Adkins it will be a loooong season. This team will be be built around Baker if he plays this season.

Why wouldn't Baker play? Did he not try out?

Obviously he is not going to be another Nate Sharp. Sharp was an All Region caliber player at the point.

Adkins is going to have to more of a traditional PG and be a distributor.

This time last year there was a host of people who thought Scott was in for a long season. Ryne Smith and Kenny Felts weren't ready for varsity action. Was Danny Miller good enough to take some pressure off of Sharp and Quigley? 20+ wins later people are talking about all of the talent Scott lost.

I don't know enough about the talent coming back this year or the Bigfoot like sitings of Tyler Baker to make a prediction of wins and losses. Here is what I can predict....they will play extremely hard and be very well coached.:ylsuper:

I guess nobody can be a good at the point guard of last year?

There is one thing that I can say about Jordan Adkins, he is very willing to sacrafice his own personal gain of scoring to see that the offense will be ran correct and will play as hard as anyone on defense. So if the comment of "everything runs through Adkins" was meant as a possible team leader than the person making the comment was 100% correct. A true leader is one that leads by example and this is a quality that Jordan has.

I can honestly say that I did not see a true floor leader last year other than the coaching staff!!

But this is just one persons obversation??

Jordan is a good & hardworking kid, but your comment of his willingness to sacrifice his personal gain of scoring is far off because Jordan is not a scorer and never has been. He distributes the ball to other teammates and plays as hard as he can.

Scott had a true floor leader last year in Sharp and even Coach Carr commented that " his knowledge and leadership is what lead Scott to a very successful season". Plus, Coach Carr mentioned that Sharp was an extension of the head coach on the floor. So your observations don't have any merit!

So, this year someone on Scott's team really needs to step it up, and be a true leader out on the floor. I have no doubt with the quality of coaching that Scott has, that someone or maybe more than just one player will step it up out there. I did hear that Scott has a new player from Holmes. Has anyone heard anything about it?
