Both teams seemed to play very hard tonight. But, both teams had plenty of mistakes also. Carroll needs to fix the shotgun & punt snapping problem as that has contributed greatly in all their losses.

Good win for Trimble. Hope #5 is OK. I don't mean to always argue with you TBG but unless you counting the pregame warm-up there is no way Bird had 200 yds. I was there and had him for maybe 140. Glad to here Hawkes might get a chance to play at the next level, can you give us some insight on who might be looking at him and Bird.

I guess that we must see yardage differently then, because I sure didn't have Carlton for 281 yds when you all played us. Maybe we need to get together and watch the game films and come to a consensus on how to track yards. I would guess that last night you were doing more than just keeping Bird's stats??????????????

That is exactly what happened. He didn't even need to go to the hospital, but it was out of our hands...I am just glad that he is okay.

 

As far as our student fans, they are really, really a wonderful group. They tend to be positive about our own team, as opposed to being negative about the opposing team.

I haven't attacked you. I may not even have replied if I had not been singled out to begin with. The indicates a joke. You see a lot of that on here. I am by far and away not the only person to get personal (if you took it that way). The GC faithful have not liked me ever since I stated that I thought Bird was a better running back then Carlton. I am entitled to my opinion, too.

Hawkes is being recuited heavily by Hanover College.

 

Bird is being recuited by Eastern, Murray, Campbellsville and a couple of others that I will keep :sssh: about.

 

That being said, whether either of them chooses to play college ball is another story. Both have high academic aspirations, also.

I would be glad to help. We are making the same mistakes that we made back during our pre-season scrimmages. Here are my suggestions:

 

1) D-BACKS: HOW MANY WAYS ARE THERE TO SAY THIS? DO NOT LET ANYONE BEHIND YOU.

2) Q-BACK: DO NOT CONTINUE TO THROW INTO DOUBLE AND TRIPLE COVERAGE.

3) CENTER: YOUR FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS--MAKE A GOOD SNAP. THE PLAY CAN'T START UNLESS THIS HAPPENS.

4) RUNNING BACKS: HOLD ON TO THE BALL.

5) O-LINE: I REALIZE WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS INJURIES THIS SEASON AND THEREFORE NOT MUCH CONTINUITY BUT WE HAVE TO START OPENING UP SOME HOLES ON THE INTERIOR. EVERYBODY ON THE PLANET KNOWS WE ARE EITHER GOING TO RUN SOME KIND OF SWEEP OR A PASS.

6) DEFENSE: EVERYONE. HIT AND WRAP!!! TRYING TO JUST KNOCK SOMEONE DOWN DOESN'T WORK 90% OF THE TIME.

7) CORNERS: ARE WE READING ANY KEYS? HOW DO WE CONTINUOUSLY GET BURNED LONG?

 

I could go on but I'll stop there. It is frustrating to watch when you know we have quality athletes (and plenty of them). You guys are not this bad and seeing you at 0-5 at this point of the season is unreal. Take care of business. Focus on your assignments on every single play. Do your job on every single play. Most of all: START GETTING AFTER PEOPLE AND STOP MAKING SILLY MISTAKES.
