Coach Mills has got his kids playing good football. I can't say enough good about what he has done in the short time he has been there.

Is KC a football school now?

Knox Central has one of the better defenses that I have seen in a long time. The offense is making steady progress.

Yes Bubba they are. Coach Mills has installed pride in the kids and they come onto the field thinking they can win. This is a big change from just a few years ago.

Good showing by the Wildcats, they lead KC 7-6 at the half. This is the same Knox club that shut out Rockcastle.

 

This is a step up to playing good football teams in higher classes. You learn a lot about yourselves by doing that and I can see this schedule helping SV and paying dividends down the road.

 

I'm looking forward to see what both these teams do in the playoffs in their respective classes.

IMO with the middle school in place now in Knox Co. the Panthers should keep a lot of players in their football program and continue to improve. Once this crop of basketball players are gone football will be the top program there, if its not already.

The Knox train just keeps on rolling.

I agree. For a long time basketball has been the glamour sport at Knox Central, but Coach Mills has really started to change that perception within the county. Not to mention the last I heard Knox County's teams were undefeated at every level up through middle school.

I see no reason that all the sports at KC can't make great strides as long as the coaches don't try to restrict kids to one sport only. Winning begats winning and carries over to the other sports.

I think all KC fans want to welcome back asst. coach Chaz Martin who returned home from Iraq with the 149th Mountain Warriors. Thanks Coach, and welcome home. The KC sidelines will be fired up now!
