September 23, 200718 yr Author Good win, I watched the game, it honestly seemed like Marshall was their own worst enemy as they hur theirself numerous times and Cinci turned it up late. It seemed early on that the Bearcats just wasn't emotionaly into the game? But im not for sure its my first time watching them this year. The D was there as always but the O was once again a little slow out of the gate. Grutza learned he would get the start as the team was about to come out of the tunnel in pregame, and they just weren't clicking early. Mauk's shoulder is starting to worry me though...

September 23, 200718 yr Author A few things after going back over tonight. This is the first game all of the points were score by the UC O. The D and ST have been so good I wanted to see a game without them putting points on the board to see how the O would respond. After the slow start theyclicked when Mauk entered the game and again when Grutza had to step back in. You really have to see Mauk's arm in person to understand what he's been through to get here. The scar looks like a zipper from the bottom of his bicep to the top of his shoulder. He will never be 100% this year, but he's a tough kid that loves the game and wants to play. Any way you slice it, it takes some luster off things looking at the next 8 games. With the way the football world has turned upside down this year, you have to be impressed with the way this team takes care of business. With that said, I still fear a let down on the trip to San Diego next Saturday. SDSU hasn't been very good, but you just never know any more. I'm sure I'll have more...

Marshall sold 2,300 of their allotted 3,00 and I did see some green spread outside of the Herd section. I'd guess about 4,000 Marshall fans. It was by far the biggest student turnout in program history. I never, EVER, thought I'd see the student section that full...

They're taking care of business against the easier part of their schedule which a)gets fans excited b)gets them close to bowl eligible c)makes recruits take notice and d)gets the positive mojo going for the players. I look forward to seeing their D against WVU, UL, USF, and Rutgers.
