BluegrassPreps.com and the Kentucky News Network are once again working together to promote high school football in Kentucky.

We are currently taking nominations for the BGP/KNN player of the week! The player of the week can be from any team and is based on game performance from this weekend.

Please submit your nomination in this thread and provide as much background/stats/information as possible from their game this week.

Also, from host Al Mayo:

Sorry I'm a bit tardy getting back to you guys but, I'm here now.

First of all, this award applies only to VARSITY players.

Whenever you place a name for nomination, I need the following to be listed.

Player name, position, class (Soph, jr, sr. etc).

Stats for the week's performance. Carries, yards gained pass att/comp...tackles etc.

Please do not estimate stats. Just telling me a player may have run for 150 yards, won't make the cut.

Ideally a listing would look like this---

"Bob Smith a 5'1" Tailback from Smithville High School gained 100 yards on 10 carries. He also caught 4 passes for 30 yards in a 14-0 win over Jones High School"

OR

Bob Smith, a 5'1" QB from Smithville High School completed 15 of 20 passes for 100 yards, and 1 TD as the Smiths beat Jonesville 14-0.

Otherwise, post as many players as you like if you think they merit a mention. ALL Players listed will be used on the show as nominees, so their stats and performace will be included. A Ploayer Of The Week will be chosen from the weekly nominees.

Thanks in advance for the help, and have a GREAT season!

My nomination would be Ricky Buckler from Bellevue High School. Ricky had 111 yds. on 7 carries Friday in a win over Bishop Brossart. All of these yards came in the first half as Ricky did not play in the second half due to a lopsided score of 46-14.

Let's go gang. Gotta have these ASAP!

Jay Draper Highlands Senior WR

4 catches 105 yds.

Against Covington Catholic

Charlie Banks of letcher Central. Had another good week 10-12 passing for 132 yards. had additional 35 on the ground. Got his 3rd interception as LCC's def.back. Kid plays well on both sides of the ball. Cougars go to 3-0 in the District

Hazard's Tyler Olinger threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for five more touchdowns over Perry County Central.

Sounds like a winner to me... so far ;)

RB Kelvin Scott, Bardstown, 221 yards 4 rushing TD's, 1 receiving TD, had a long punt return, and threw for a 2 pt. conversion in Bardstown's 42-0 win over Washinton County. Scott leads Class 2A in rushing yards with 192 per game and has scored 12 rushing TD's, 2 receiving TD's, and returned 2 KO's for TD's.

Scott definitely deserves it this week.

He deserves it more than this:

Hazard's Tyler Olinger threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for five more touchdowns over Perry County Central.

404 yards and 9 TD's?!?!?!?!?!?!

Austin Collinsworth Soph. Highlands. Had 2 interceptions, one for a touchdown that ended up getting called back for a penalty away from the play. Fastest kid I have ever seen go down the sideline at 6'2"
