Heck, I'd have laid 14 in that one. Tough, tough place to play. Arkansas St. is -4, for what it's worth.

September 27, 200718 yr Author I'm going to try something new this week - I'm going to give some reasoning and thought process on my picks so that when I lose, I'll at least not look like a moron. Alright, let's get this weekend started off the right way (unlike last week!): Tonight, I'm going with: Arkansas State -5 (I'm going to hold off a little while to see if I can get 4 1/2 again, but either way, I'm going with Ark. State); Reasoning - Memphis has one win over an FCS school since the beginning of LAST season. Ask Texas about Arkansas State. 2-team Parlay: Boise State + Arkansas State (Both SU); Reasoning - this one appears to be an easy bet. I think both teams look good to win straight up at home. What I would avoid - a line bet in the Boise State/Southern Miss game; Reasoning - the line is running 10 1/2 - 11 after opening at 10. Southern Miss is always a good tough, defensive minded team. Boise is yet to impress this season. You never who will show up. The one constant in this game is the definate blue field advantage, uh, I mean home field advantage.
