Based on what accomplishment......holding North Bullitt to six points? If you think Lafayette's defense will stop Henry Clay with the weapons they have, I think you are in for a rude awakening.

 

However, Henry Clay's defense has been so suspect that I would not be surprised if Lafayette scored with them.

You say that as if it wasn't an accomplishment. Considering they are averaging 40 points a game holding them to 6 on their home field is pretty darn good.

 

Also they have one of the top 5 RB's in the state and Lafayette held him to under 40 yards and 4 fumbles. He may not have fumbled 4 times in his last two years.

I have not seen the Cissell kid play and I certainly do not want to take anything away from him.

 

North Bullitt has defeated Breckinridge County and Waggoner and lost to Shelby County and Lafayette. Not to mention the fact they are a 4A team, I don't consider them a powerhouse nor am I impressed with scoring a lot of points against those teams.

That is a strong possibly combined with the possibility of Henry Clay losing it with defense and special teams.

Whatever man, I can't argue with you, I wouldn't want to confuse you with FACTS like the game scores from the last 2 years when Lafayettes/staff/players/gameplan held them way under thier season averages.

It is true that Henry Clay did not score anywhere near their season average against Lafayette the last two years.

Never said Henry Clay is North Bullitt. But you know Lafayette held your team to 6 points too.

 

Dalton Cissell ran for 910 as a freshman, 2143 as a sophomore last year.

 

So far this year he has 496 yards in 4 games. Including 250 yards against 6A Shelby County. Lafayette held him to under 40 yards. Guess how many times that happened last year? Zero.

 

So while North Bullitt may not be in the same league as HC (although considering the problems Clay had stopping Boyle ....) This was a team that averaged 33.5 points a game last year and is averaging over 40 a game this year.

 

So I'd say Lafayette's D is up to the challenge.

 

Once again I think this game is a toss up so I am not disrespecting HC ... I just think they are underestimating a team who currently has a two year scoreboard advantage.

Trust me, there is no underestimating of Lafayette in the Henry Clay camp.

 

It is very difficult to underestimate a team that came from behind two straight years to ruin perfect 10-0 regular seasons.

While I am not fond of high scoring, Hal Mumme type games, I am hoping for a shoot out here because I feel it favors homestanding Henry Clay.
