Actually, I looked at BGP rankings.

Lafayette has a much better defense, having seen them twice and Henry Clay once. That being said Henry Clay is explosive on offense and has a little bit more depth, as it seems Lafayette gets worn down quickly. Henry Clay wins a close one, 35-28.

I honestly did. It seems like everytime I look at Cantrell rankings, there are teams that are not getting their due. (and not just my fave teams)

I'll go with Henry Clay, easily.

I base this on returning athletes and experience in recent big games.

People aways pick lafayette to lose on these forums. Then when they win they were expected to, so they get no respect. I think Lafayette is a more complete team. They just need to limit Clay's offense.

I think Lafayette's defense will be the difference in this game. Definitely a close game to call. I get a kick out of people dissing Lafayette based on their schedule.

 

The win and the way they won at North Bullitt was very impressive. They are talking about moving the North Bullitt vs. Bullitt East game to Thursday night so U of L can scout Reynolds and Cissell. Yet Lafayette stuffed their high powered offense and held Dalton under 40 yards.

 

Henry Clay is a power and is probably favored in this one but underestimating Lafayette would be a mistake.

This will be an interesting match up!

Henry Clay was neck and neck with St. X in a scrimmage this year. I'm not saying Henry Clay will win but "way to strong" is not a phrase I would use.

Based on what accomplishment......holding North Bullitt to six points? If you think Lafayette's defense will stop Henry Clay with the weapons they have, I think you are in for a rude awakening.

 

However, Henry Clay's defense has been so suspect that I would not be surprised if Lafayette scored with them.
