Heisman Race... After Week 1:

Featured Replies

I'll say it right here -- John David Booty will NOT win the Heisman. He is a fraud. He is an average QB on a great Team and I have to believe that the Media and Voters are smart enough to realize that.

I'll say this too -- they will lose a game this year that he will essentially cost them. He'll play poorly, he'll get balls knocked down, and he won't be bailed out by Dwayne Jarrett on iffy throws.

I completely agree. USC is loaded on defense, but Booty is the weak link on offense. If they lose a game it will be on his shoulders.

Brennan-Hawaii

White-WVU

Slaton-WVU

Booty-USC, even though they didn't put up a whole lot of points

Jackson-Cal

Ray Rice

This is kinda like discussing the Daytona 500 after 10 laps. As long as you haven't wrecked early, you're still in the race.

Exactly, well put!

No it isn't. How about the last 5 Texas Tech QB's, and Timmy Chang, for starters. Colt Brennan is a nice QB in a great system, and while he probably will earn an invite to NYC for the Heisman show, he won't be leaving with it. He also will watch a lot of other QB's get drafted before him next April.

Bring this back up in December and see how I did. ;):D :thumb:

That's true. But Brennan has a lot better shot at winning the heisman than Woodson does. Im not saying Woodson isn't a good QB, just that he plays in the toughest confrence in the nation, and while Brennan and Hawaii could go un beaten, Woodson and UK will be around .500 or below. Brennan will pass for a lot more yards and td's than Woodson will this year. But Woodson is a great QB, but when it comes to the heisman, Brennan has a bigger and better chance than he does.

I don't disagree with any of what you say here. I was simply refuting your point that it is hard to come by guys like Brennan and I believe you actually have 1 or 2 a year that would qualify. However, Woodson will be drafted before Mr. System Colt Brennan...probably a round or two before. :thumb:
