Agreed. Ponzer is a special player, and one of the fastest out on the field. I think Simon Kenton will do fine this year, even thought their opener wasn't so hot.

He is very fast and very talented. I wonder how much his size will affect his ability to play in college. It hasn't seriously affected him in high school, but college is a whole different game. Just imagine if he was 5 inches taller...

I feared that.:irked:

It's really too bad. I know a little about his situation, ie why he moved to SK, and am saddened to hear what's happenned. He is a very good athlete and kid who hasn't had the easiest road thus far.

Coach Marksberry and his troops will be fine. He is a class act and does a great job with that program. Good luck this week.

Yes. If Ponzer was just taller he would be a D-1 player. He was probably the best hands in Northern Kentucky and you can't argue with his speed. It speaks for itself. He would be something to watch if he was just a bit bigger and taller.

It seems like some of the best players in high school year in and out are about the same size. The problem is that colleges usually want you to be five inches taller and 40-50 lbs. heavier.

Don't donate any height though.:sssh:

I would be negligent in my posting if I did not mention the fact that I was only talking about D1 schools. NAIA, D3, D2, and even some D1AA teams would be interested talking to him. He is a prime candidate for an NAIA scholarship and they do offer partials that often can turn into full rides.

I'm sure he will be getting more and more looks as the season goes along.

Yes , yes they do ! ;):D

Sad about Tommy G. but at some point, just like the Bengals, teams have to draw the line and set a standard for our young men. I wish Tommy the best and look forward to another great SK-Dixie game! When these two teams play you can throw out the record books, the stats, all of it 'cause this is a cross town shoot out! Go Dixie! :thumb:

The weather looks like it will be fantastic tonight, I expect this game to be the same. I'll be surprised if this game turns out to be a one-sided game either way. I'll pick Dixie to win.
