If I was coach Poynter I would run Bird until his legs fall off. You want the ball in your best players hands as much as possible.

I am actually mad because Bird didnt run it 50 times.

:flame: Fire Poynter! :flame:

Just joking! We definitely want to keep him around!

No, I would say the same thing. Look no further than the decision to use EJ Fields as QB...he always has the ball in his hands and can definitely make things happen! :thumb:

Trimble fumbled the ball several times in the red zone Saturday Night. Nobody but Bird as he was the only one to handle it. Was he tired or careless? Maybe he doesn't take contact very well? A wise old coach once said" The ones who talk about the way the ball bounces are probably the ones who dropped it." We'll have some answers tomorrow night.

All the talk here is about Bird. The Hawkes kid ran the ball as hard as anyone all night. He may not be as elisive as Bird, but I wouldn't want to take him head on. Peters ran the ball awfully well while he was in also and has great speed if he can get loose.

Very true...Hawkes is one of the more underrated players on the team. I love to watch him defensively, also.

Trimble had 56 plays and Bird carried it 36 times, so someone else carried the ball. A wise coach once said "dance with the one you brought" :walk:

:thumb: What did Bird do the other 20 plays? I hope they were missed hand offs to him.

Someone make sure he gets the ball 56 times a game.:D

You ogt it. As I said, every team and coach knows that Trimble only has two plays. He acts like he is hurt evertime he doesn't have a good run. We have a whole team of great players but no one will ever know it.

Wow...a lot of jealousy and animosity there. I am not sure where that is coming from, but it does answer some questions for me.

Not jealousy, frustration. There is a big difference. You have to mix up the offense a little and two plays won't do it.

Here's a Rule #2 reminder....So let's not travel down that road.

Sorry I too am a blue and gold fan I just want them to do good this year

I have always thought that wanting your team to do good meant building them up and being positive. That is one of the reasons why team leaders such as lineman Trent Mullikin and LB Jon Ball are so vital to the team. They know who the money man for Trimble is. Even if there were no Bird and Trimble was 0-10 again...like they were before Poynter...Mullikin and Ball would always be positive about their team.

Again, the Ludlow loss was not due to a lack of offense, but due to fumbles...whether it be beacause of Ludlow defense or other factors.

Good luck Raiders! Again, I will be praying for an injury free game for both teams.

TBG- You are correct stay positive. One week doesnt make a season. Trimble will be playing for a title in months ahead.

TELL"EM COACH! Every player and coach will tell you that you must have senior leadership, and the kinda of leadership that we have from you is negative to the team. If you would work as hard to built up as you do to tear down we would be pretty good up front.

Maybe Poynter should just cut a couple of players loose to COACH from the stands!!! :fire:
