August 28, 200719 yr So name me the last big time pro style QB that wasn't from an elite team. Peyton, Brady, Carson are the top 3. UT, USC and UM have a decent reputation. The comparable Vince Young won a title at Texas. There are superstars and busts of the same size up and down the line. He's as big as Vince Young. Awesome. I'm sure the grandkids will love that one... I consider Marc Bulger a really good QB....
August 28, 200719 yr He's the same size as Young. Too bad he has very few of his skills... The first sentence answered my very simple question. The second sentence is you on tilt. DO NOT play any poker tonight.
August 28, 200719 yr I consider Marc Bulger a really good QB.... I agree. But at 6'3" 212 now, he was no Vince Young at WVU. He wasn't even Andre Woodson back then..
August 28, 200719 yr Does my last post answer your question GT? I thought thats what you were looking for before you posted that. BRJB has you pegged in that last post.

August 28, 200719 yr And do you want a better list? Dan Marino, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Bledsoe, etc. An answer to this? Pitt is a pretty prestigious program and they have produced a few decent QBs over the years. Ben would have gone to OSU if Cooper had said his name right on the visit. Got that one on tape directly from Ben back when he was at Miami. The 02 title team with Ben over Krenzel? I miss John Cooper. Does the Washington State connection cancel out Bledsoe and Leaf???

The fact of the matter is Ben went Miami. Make excuses all you want, but thats the school he went to, and thats what you asked for. The WSU connection could, but Leaf was such a headcase he was headed down that road anyway.
August 28, 200719 yr The fact of the matter is Ben went Miami. Make excuses all you want, but thats the school he went to, and thats what you asked for. Ben told me that directly in an interview right before he got big. He was an elite QB that spent most of his days in HS as a WR prospect because the coaches son was a year older. I bet he had the skills to make it at another position... :jump:
August 28, 200719 yr Another great example that I know GT is extremely familiar with - Chad Pennington...
August 28, 200719 yr Another great example that I know GT is extremely familiar with - Chad Pennington... To this day I remember eating lunch with the lanky and awkward freshman with the fluffy red afro that was taking over for the injured senior at the last minute. I got to know Chad pretty well back in 95 and he was far from a "prototype". He ended up with my job when I left MU, so what's that tell you???
August 28, 200719 yr ^^^6'3, 225...but yes to look at him you probably wouldn't guess starting NFL QB...
