Berea 48 Bracken County 12

Featured Replies

Its Monday and nobody knows who won this game?

According to Sunday's edition of the Richmond Register, Berea won the game 48-12.

KHSAA scoreboard says Berea 48 Bracken County 12 .
Newspaper and various scoreboards, have this.....Anyone attend, who can verify?

The Register had an actual story with interviews of Berea's coach and a player. There was no box score, but the coach was talking about continuing a new philosophy of winning at Berea.

If/and/or when Berea decides to play district ball again, what's the earliest they can get back in? I know they dropped out of district play this spring.

2009 Football season.

I still personally think it was a bad move dropping out of district play in the first place.

Man and I predicted they would win 2 games

Think they'll still be with Lynn Camp, W'burg, C'ville and Clinton County????

They will definitely be in 1A if/when they ever get back into district. It will be interesting to see what the KHSAA decides to do with them. They could move them north with LCA, Paris etc or south with the district they should have been in this year.

I would imagine it could also have to do with #'s at Lynn Camp. I would think you all would be close to the border with 2A, is that accurate?

Not right now, that I am aware of. Somewhere in the middle of the #'s to stay Class A, I would guess. Maybe in a few years if growth in this end of the county continues, but I'd say we're "A" for at least a couple more realignments.

There are only 4 teams in our District now. How many are in the North? That's what I would figure where Berea would go to be.

You are right, District 5 has 5 teams right now and District 6 has the 4 of you. That would probably make it the most logical place.

One interesting thing to watch would be that District 7 will lose Cumberland and Evarts with the opening of Harlan Central, presumably leaving that as a 4 team district under the 09 alignment. That could play into the distribution of teams in South Central and South Eastern part of the state.

Also thought they would win this one and the next against Manchester, Ohio(Who I think just started football last season). They just have no athletes whatsoever in their junior and senior classes or sophs and freshman on the football team. If they don't beat Manchester at home, it will be a third straight winless season. Why would someone with the so-called pedigree of Coach Faust put himself through this with no quick light at the end of the tunnel?

Congratulations to Berea on the win. It is good to see things moving in the right direction for them. They always had kids that played until the final whistle and for that they have my respect.
