How is Russell’s secondary? I’ve been hearing that it’s not as good as recent years. If true this could be an interesting game.

But, I expect Russell will win.

Russell's secondary is inexperienced but talented. Clark and Sizemore held down the safety spots for the last three years. I look for them to get better and better as the year goes along.

I would describe them as unproven and learning. They are athletic and have potential, but return 0 starters (although Bailey did fill in quite well for injured players). If Greenup does have a lot of time to throw, then the secondary may give up some plays, but I don't expect them to have much time to throw.

I wonder if the Greenup QB is a pocket passer, or if he can scramble? It will be interesting to see if he can exploit an inexperienced secondary.

It would be good for area football if Greenup Co. were competitive this year. Nobody wants too many cup-cakes on the schedule – they don’t help you get better.

Craft can scramble but is not going to beat you running the ball. Russell's best bet would be get to him quick and don't give him alot of time to look down field.

The Russell secondary that I saw in the scrimmage games was suspect. I think that they will do just fine. I'm sure that Coach Morris has taken care of any problem that he may have seen. It may be tough for the QB to throw if he has Jones chasing him in the backfield.

I sure hope Greenup does well. I would like to start the season off with an exciting game.

What turmoil are you talking about? GCHS football has none as far as I know. As far as Craft being lame, I guess that is just your opionion.

GC cheerleaders and band are awesome. So I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad, huh!

I know nothing about any turmoil in Lloyd but..................that is a good bet at anytime, there is always turmoil down there over something  . A person would have a scoop if there was no turmoil at GCHS. Turmoil at Lloyd is pretty much like death and taxes - it is an absolute given. "IF" there is (and I don't know if there is or not) the ones that I really feel for is the kids, they are supposed to be what it is all about.

JMO and again - I haven't heard anything about that.

There is turmoil in all schools, it's just that some schools seem to have ways of keeping it quiet. If something bad happens at Greenup, you can bet it will be on the front page. If something good happens, which it does, it MIGHT be on the last page.

Is Craft injured? What do you mean by lame?

I can't argue with that at all. :thumb: That and I have some friends in that area that tell me some stuff that may be going on at times. No school is immune from problems of one type or another. All have them. :thumb:

By the way, welcome to BGP outsider.

I had said Russell by 21 earlier and with some of my latest info I believe that you may be closer than any of us. I am more inclined to go with your pick now, maybe even a GCHS win.

I hope that both teams come away from the game injury free.

Welcome to BGP meaneagle!

Greenup co will give Russell hard time and play very hard and never quit.:flame:

The definition of lame is the following:

1.) Moving with pain or difficulty on account of injury, defect, or temporary obstruction of a function; as, a lame leg, arm, or muscle.

2.) To some degree disabled by reason of the imperfect action of a limb; crippled; as, a lame man.

3.) Hence, hobbling; limping; inefficient; imperfect.

Does that make clearer the condition of Greenup's QB? He is doubtful for Friday night's game following the Ironton scrimmage.

There is turmoil in Lloyd between the players and coaches, as well as among the overall program to include the boosters and administration. All parties involved deny the existence of a problem due to the upcoming game against Russell. I will not discuss the matter further.

By the way, Russell appears to have the edge with conditioning as well. I heard that Greenup has not run any sprints during conditioning or practice this year.

Greenup will show up to play a good game .

It's almost here. One more day till football. Something tells me this might be a better game than I originally stated. :dancingpa
