Boone County/Beechwood Scrimmage

Featured Replies

Congrats to the Rebels! Awesome showing all around!

Could this be the year Boone finally gets over the hump?

If you mean the Louisville hump than i will answer your question for you.NO!!!

I wouldn't be so sure, this Rebel team is as good as I've seen come out of BC in a while. If they keep progressing at the QB and WR spots I think they have a shot. I am positive that they would make it a closer game than last year.

Is Boone that good or is Beechwood that bad???

Good question. If this is the best Beechwood team, where does that put BCHS? Good luck to the Rebels, take the state champ crown!!!

Not totally surprised Boone won, but surprised by the ease.

Mostly a good 1A schools assets (large roster, multiple skill players, and size on the line) can be offset by a 6A team because they should have all those assets too, but would have thought 21-7 or 35-14 would have been the max on a real bad night for the Beechies not 35-0 at the half.

Might be a beating the Beechies needed to keep them focused but then again might instill some doubts.

My guess is somehow they will find a way to "get up" for next weeks opener with Lloyd.;)

If you go to Lloyd to see them next week you will be waiting around for at least a week.

Next Friday the Tigers will be being entertained by my beloved Colonels at Dixie Heights.:D:cool:

Not close!!

You gotta start wondering is it good to schedule 2 powerhouse teams in scrimmages like HHS and Boone Co. Does this bring them to reality and motivate them or does it beat them up a litte before they go into their 1st game vs. Dixie.

No doubt it will prepare them for the Class A schools but it looks like they were taken out to the woodshed on this night.

The thing that concerned this Beechwood fan the most was the fact that the players who were most exploied By BC were the same players who were exploited by Highlands. It appears that Beechwood has some serious holes.

For those who questioned Beechwood scheduling the Rebels, there have been years when Beechwood would have defeated Boone. This is definately not one of them as Boone was far superior to a Beechwood team that may well be a over rated.

All the boys from Beechwood have been hearing is that they will walk to the

Class A Championship....Maybe they needed to be taken to woodshed in order to get more focused...I'd be very surprised if they don't look much better next week versus Dixie in the season opener....

On the other hand, sounds like the Rebels have the pieces of the puzzle coming together a little earlier this year than in recent years....I look forward to that 6A No Ky district...It should be very competitive...
