August 14, 200719 yr The FOX crew have been the best in the buisness from the first day they took over IMO. Yeah DW and Hollywood Hammond are a little over the top sometimes but they love this sport and you can tell it. Larry Mac might be my all time favorite race announcer. He puts his vast knowledge of this sport in to plain terms that us country folk can understand. The only downside to the fox crew is Chris Meyers that guy is an idiot when it comes to racing. Watching a race on ESPN and NBC before them was like watching a race in the dentists chair. At least on FOX you can tell those guys are having fun. And if the announcers are having fun then the viewers will to. I wish FOX would do the races all season long.
August 21, 200719 yr I spent three hours at the dentist this morning and then the last hour and a half with ESPN. This morning was less painfull.
August 21, 200719 yr Rusty is just BAD :fire: I'm not sure that I can take another race. Might just have to turn the volume down and listen to MRN.

August 22, 200719 yr They talk ,talk ,talk and sometimes don't make any sense at all. A lot of their talk has nothing to do with the race or they second guess what has happened or is going to happen.
August 22, 200719 yr The clean air and dirty air makes it looks cool , but .......is it real and has it someting to do with the race. ???
August 26, 200719 yr I didn't like Rusty as a driver, so I've been trying to be fair and give him the benefit of the doubt as a commentator, but he really is horrible. He can have info right in front of him, all he has to do is read it, and he still gets things wrong. If Rusty was a dog, he wouldn't know the difference between sic 'em and come here. I miss FOX.
September 10, 200719 yr Okay....I'm officially not a fan of ESPN's coverage. Watching the highlights of the race on Sportscenter caused me to laugh out loud. They just kept going on and on about how Junior needed to finish in the top 5 to make the Chase, neglecting to mention that it was still dependent on where Harvick and Busch finished. They showed just about every wreck or significant incident, but at the end just said that junior only finished 30th and just couldn't "Get 'er done." They failed to mention that he ran well the whole race and then blew an engine. Also, why is Brad Daughtery doing race coverage? Where are his credentials to be considered an analyst? He actually made the comment on Saturday that Junior "hasn't ran well all season." Anybody who has followed the season knows that that is completely untrue. He is sitting where he is due to all of the DNF's, and he was running well each time he had equipment failure or got caught in someone else's mess. I'm not sure how you sit 13th in the points with 6 DNF's and losing 100 points without running well at some point in time. Sorry for the rant....
September 10, 200719 yr Following his retirement from the NBA, Daugherty co-owned a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team (Liberty Racing) featuring such drivers as Kenny Irwin Jr. and Kevin Harvick. In 1997 Irwin won two Craftsman Truck Series races driving for Daugherty (Homestead-Miami Speedway in March and Texas Motor Speedway in June). He is also married to a former Winston girl!

It is like Richard Petty announcing the Final Four!!!!!
September 10, 200719 yr ESPN is doing a poor job on every sport they cover. They have become the tabloid news of sports. They have so much fluff in all of their programming. The MNF broadcasts are an extended version of Sports Center with a football game in between. I used to love to watch Poker but if I have to hear another one of Norman Chad’s lame jokes about how many times he’s been married I‘m going to puke. As bad as they are at those things, they are even worse at NASCAR coverage. The NASCAR Now daily show is awful too! Stacy Compton is the only driver they could get to do that show???? You got to be kidding me! Give me Jimmy Spencer or Ken Schrader or anyone else that may be somewhat entertaining or have a pulse!!
