2007/2008 Campbell Co

Featured Replies

What does Campbell Co. need to do to improve in 2007/2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Camels need to be more aggressive on defense and some of the players need to be more willing to distribute the ball and others need to take more of the offensive load. I am sure new Coach Scott Code will address these issues and will have the Camels playing winning basketball.

They should be the definite favorite to win the 37th district since Scott and Brossart lost a ton due to graduation.

Scott Code does have some good returning talent and experience. I think people will see a different CC team under Coach Code, especially on the defensive end of the floor.

I believe if the young and talented Pat Nuerl ( I think that's how you spell it) comes to play this year and steps it up the Camels will have a bright 07-08 season..

"They are who we thought they were!!!" - "Those guys are toast". No, really the future actually seems pretty bright for the Camels. I like their chances to win the district this year.

Uh, didnt they just lose their leading scorer for the year in Verst? That has to put them a step back for the moment.

That's true that they lost a big part in Verst, but they still have enough talent to win against the other teams in the 37th district. With or without Verst, they still win the district.

I actually think the level of success the Camels have (or don't have) depends on how the kids, especially the older ones, buy into Coach Code's philosophy. His style is significantly opposite that of the previous regime, and it takes a lot for kids to buy into the defense-first, team-first style that Code will undoubtedly bring to Campbell.

I don't remember seeing much "D" from Campbell in the past, and do remember a lot of individual, "look at my stats" type play. If Coach Code can get them playing a little more like the kids at his last stop, they'll be very successful; as there's some talent, especially at the younger levels. Had the opportunity to see their JV and Frosh play a couple times last year, and liked the way they played, so Code's job may not be as hard as it would appear.

Number 2 in the region, as I saw in another thread may be kind of ambitious; let's see them win the district first, and then see what happens. Good luck to the Camels this year!!

What happened to Verst?

Got kicked off the team.

Hate the term "kicked off" - how about, heis no longer with the team?

I would have said that if he wasn't literally told that he wasn't a member of the team anymore, a.k.a. kicked off.:thumb:
