The law center claims the Imperial Klans of American is the nation's second-largest Klan group and is based on a 28-acre compound in Dawson Springs, Ky. It is the site of Nordic Fest, a music festival that brings together Klansmen, skinheads and members of other hate groups each year in May, according to the center.

Wow! I had no idea that the Klan was so large in Kentucky. :eek:

 

This article certainly brings so many questions to my mind....but I'm not even sure how to articulate them at this point.

 

I simply cannot wrap my mind around the concept that there are still people in this world who actively promote hate.

The sad thing for this kid, is that he was at the Meade County Fair. That's a community event. If he'd been attacked at the Nordic Fest, I'd have said, "Dude...what where you thinking?!"

I couldn't find where it said it was large, only that it was the 2nd largest. Of course, when speaking of the Klan, a little goes a long ways and one is too many.

1) While the frequency and proximity of these groups is disturbing, Kentucky is not near as bad as other states. Surprisingly, while the worst are, some of the higher numbers aren't in the south.

 

2) Ohio is the cesspool that I've always thought it was...

 

3) I'm moving my family to the North Dakota, South Dakota border...

I agree, fascinating. And surprising. I've always associated hate groups with poverty and backwardness, yet look at Eastern Ky. Not a single group listed east of I-75.

 

Look at New Jersey. A small state that hates everyone.

I found it interesting that of the 12 cities in Kentucky with hate groups, 8 of them are Klan, 1 is Neo-Nazi, 1 is Black Sepratist & two are types of groups I never knew existed:

That seems really confusing to me, what they believe. :confused:
