4A 2007 Playoff Scenario

Featured Replies

yep....and I agree. That has been a problem with Southern....they have talented players but haven't had the depth needed, but they did pull out the win that game. And it will be good competition for both teams this fall.

Injuries happen and if I remember correctly KC was without a starting running back for that game. If you want to be a considered a playoff contender you must develop depth and bring your A game everytime. Regardless, it will be decided in October.
Now, I'll give you that Rock, Bell, and Lex. Cath are a cut above the Western half. As for Boyle, that remains to be seen. I'll take Warren East, Franklin Simpson, or North Bullitt against any of the East with the exception of the afore mentioned.

Lawerence and Boyd? East Jess and Boyle? Maybe not this season but overall I find the East Bracket should be harder year in and year out. Either way I hate the new classes. I loved 3A just the way it was.

Harrison Co. over Lex. Cath, on the hilltop. Harrison Co. winning 4A State Championship.

I may be crazy. However, if you think Lex Cath is not the favorite going into this 4A state championship season; you have lost your marbles. They have one of, if not the best running backs in the state. They have a great receiver in GUY and almost all returning linemen. The only team that can beat them, but won't, is Franklin County. They are the only team that can come close to matching the speed, strength & size. Boyle County has an outside chance as well but must win the turnover battle to pull off a major upset. However, Franklin Co has come so close the last couple of years, they are no longer scared of Lex Cath. This has become a huge rivalry game and Franklin Co gave them all they wanted last year, not once, but twice. I realize Ammons is gone but so is Revere and without Revere, Lex Cath loses twice last year. Franklin County will stop the run and will score; how they defend the pass and how special teams plays out is the big question mark?

I think Bell Co. will beat Lex.Cath and go on to win their 2nd State Champingship.

I look for Franklin County to make a 4A Title Run and meet up with Lou. Western in the 4A Title Game! Both of these teams are being doubted by alot of people because of recent losses of dynamic players!

I think Bell Co. will beat Lex.Cath and go on to win their 2nd State Champingship.

I agree! Bell will surprise a lot of people this year. They return all their skill players. They have a Sr. QB in his fourth year as varsity starter. Strong, experienced backfield; great special teams. They have added a lot of size and strength in young players that will be tested by playoff time. Lex Cath has to beat Boyle Co. in their district and then play the winner of Rockcastle/Bell district. Winner of this region will be hard pressed not to be favorite for state.;)

I don't see Larue getting past North Bullitt last year, but it's all speculation.
