July 27, 200719 yr If God ties marriage to sex, yes your scenario would seem to be appropriate. Again, I am not sure that God waits for some marriage ceremony to classify whether you are married or not. On the part I bolded, are people who are married by a justice of the peace or captain of a boat or someone other than a minister seen as married in the eyes of God? I think God ties marriage to the sexual act more than we realize and the reason why adultery is such a no-no in the Bible. Also, remember in Genesis it says that God brought Eve to Adam. Women could/should be seen as a gift FROM God to man. Would you not expect God to hold that relationship that he created in high regard? I totally disagree with sex having anything to do with God seeing two people as being married. I think it is the emotional(for lack of a better word) and personal commitment from deep in both persons soul(true love/commitmentment) that God recognizes when there is a union between two people. Fornication is a sin which means you are not to have sex until you get married. If you have premarital sex it is simply a sin not a commitment to someone. However, In my opinion God would be more likely to view two people who live with one another, without being cerimonially married, as married as long as they are committed(as metioned before) only to each other. This is the way I think and I think it is silly to think having sex with someone constitutes marriage. If a woman gets raped will God consider the woman and the rapist married? There is no way! That is why I truely believe that there has to be a total commitment not just sex.INHO!
July 27, 200719 yr Guys, this is an extremely interesting topic, but one that should be part of a new thread.
July 27, 200719 yr Guys, this is an extremely interesting topic, but one that should be part of a new thread. I respectfully disagree and believe it is very relevant to the thread title. If we are talking about dating in/out of your religion, you must have an idea of what God sees as a healthy dating relationship and when it goes beyond just dating and to another classification. If two Christians that have been baptized and given their life to Christ have premarital sex be more likely to be seen by God as married than a believer and an unbeliever? Or how would God view two unbelievers in the dating issue?

Nowhere in the prior page of threads devoted to that was dating mentioned. Your motion is overruled. You may appeal to a higher court in PM's if you wish.

I can see both points...right now it isn't related a whole lot, but I think if allowed to finish our discussion, there's a decent chance we could tie it back into the thread topic.
July 27, 200719 yr Court of Appeals is now in session, Associate Moderator HHSDad presiding. Hearsay v. LadiesBasketballCoach CERTIORARI TO THE BLUEGRASSPREPS DISTRICT COURT Petitioner issued a cease and desist order in the matter of Dating Outside Your Religion. The order was based on the petitioner's belief that certain posts were outside of the general topic of the thread. Defendent then filed a habeas petition asking for review of the lower court's decision. OPINION "Hijacks" or moving threads away from their intended topic is a perpetual problem. Although it is sometimes allowed, especially in cases where the subject of the thread is not well understood, it is generally considered the perogative of the moderators to determine when a thread is off-topic. There is substantial precedence that gives the Petitioner the write to make that determination. In reviewing the posts made in the thread, this court agrees with the lower court that the posts regarding premarital sex and other sexual relations was not pertinent to the subject of the thread. Therefore, the Petitioner was within his rights to issue the cease and desist order. On review of adminstrative procedures, this court is concerned that rules of the forum, Rule #12 in particular, were not followed as required. Rule #12 states "When a moderator warns of possible rules violations, do not ignore the warning and do not argue. Ignoring a violation warning or arguing with a moderator over their enforcement of forum rules will result in your suspension." The proper venue for discussion of a decision by a moderator in by personal message or email. Discussion of a decision within a thread is never allowed. The decision of the lower court is hereby affirmed. In plain English, if you want to continue discussing sex as it relates to marriage, start a new thread. Don't argue with the mods in your posts.
July 27, 200719 yr Too funny.:thumb: My view is that dating outside of your religion is one thing. Marrying outside your religion is a total no other thing. I would prefer for my children to stay friends and witness with their life to those who are not of the Christian faith. But for serious dating, they would not take that step until that person has begun to look at giving their life to Jesus Christ. Very serious dating that could lead to marriage (of course what marriage is in the eyes of God is still open for debate but in another thread :sssh: )would only happen to those that are of the Christian faith and let it guide their life. My children have a very practical situation in their life where a close family member did not do that and the situation is horrible. Hopefully, they will learn from the mistakes of other family members. Marriage and the trials of life are too hard to add in the differences of faith.
July 27, 200719 yr I apologize if it came across as a disrespectful arguing. I truly did not mean it to be.
July 28, 200719 yr I apologize if it came across as a disrespectful arguing. I truly did not mean it to be. I don't think anyone thought it was disrespectful. I just think the moderators are say arguing with their decisions, whether respectful or disrespectful, is a violation of rule # 12. I also think they will tell me that this discussion doesn't meet with this threads discription.
