Sony cuts price on PS3 by $100

Featured Replies

I LOVE my PS3. MLB The Show on PS3 is UNreal. It is exactly as advertised. The most realistic baseball simulation EVER. I can't wait for college football in a few weeks.

However, I can't stress enough. DO NOT buy a PS3 or 360 for that matter.. if you don't have an HDTV.

You can bet that the 360 prices will drop soon if Sony is dropping theirs. Sony can not compete with Gears of War and Halo 3 (possibly the soon to be greatest video games since the console wars started)

Sony has another Socom on the way. It will compete easily with both games you mentioned. Sony is only using half their power on games right now. Early into next year they should be at full power. 4D games are also rumored in the future.

I disagree, the 360 is great whether you have HD or not....

:thumb: :thumb: I realize HD is that much better but really isn't that big of a deal to me right now. Got other things to spend $1000 on.

Wii would like to play.

I wish I had one of those, but I will stick with my Super Nintendo :D

Socom compete with Halo 3? Are you kidding?

Why shouldn't you buy a 360 if you don't have an HDTV? That makes no sense whatsoever, it is stressed for that with the PS3 but man the 360 is so awesome it looks good on any tv you play, just plain and simple as that.

I disagree...Nintendo is the innovator when it comes to gaming. What can the PS3 and 360 do that it can't besides play DVD's? It won't be long before they're copying the Wii controller and many of the unique features it offers and then Nintendo will do something else and they'll copy again...

Bill Gates is good at that. (See Apple Computers)

Xbox Live is a huge feature that the others dont have.

Socom may be good but in no way will it compete with Halo 3. I could almost guarantee on the date that Socom is released I could go to Wal-mart around 10pm and pick it up maybe even 5 copies of it.

Halo 3 on the other hand will not be available in stores probably for a couple of months because of all the pre-orders that have been placed. It is the most anticipated game coming out this year and no game Sony comes out with will be able to compete with it.

Why would you by a system designed for HD games without an HDTV? Thats like buying a car without an engine.

My brother has a 360 on SDTV. And his jaw dropped when he saw my PS3 on an HDTV. The comparison is not even close on an HDTV.

Spoken like a true PS3 owner.

Im sure they are much sharper in HD but the only time I have played 360 it was on a standard definition tv that when you watched tv wasnt the best picture. I played the 360 on it an I was shocked how sharp it was, it was like it made a sdtv look like hdtv. It was awesome even on a crappy tv, I would love to try it on an HDTV.
