June 19, 200719 yr They are taking Jay to Lexington to Central Baptist, where he will have a quad by-pass surgery in the morning (Wed). The surgeon told him that this had probably been going on for about 18 months, so he is fortunate. (For those who were planning to hear us play at the Signature Club on Thursday: one of Jay's former students, Kevin Moreland, will sub for him.)

June 19, 200719 yr This is horrible news, I had him for a class this past semster at Morehead. I assume this is the same Jay Flippin. My knowledge of Rock and Roll will forever be owed to this man. My thoughts are with him.

He will be in good shape in no time. Again same Brother-in-Law had triple by pass 8 years before the last surgery for the ballon 2 weeks ago. Prayers are with you and your friend, but he will be feeling better than he has in years in just a few short weeks... truly amazing what the Doctors can do. :thumb: :thumb:
June 20, 200719 yr I had the chance to hear his work when I was a student at MSU. The man is truly a legend. Our prayers are with him.
