June 8, 200719 yr CAR SLUGGISH/Runs great after warming up. I have had my car at two different shops here in Licking County plus my best friend who is awesome at fixing cars can not figure this one out, can you? If my car has set for ten hours or so when it is first started is really sluggish it won’t go more than 15 miles per hour, if that until it warms ups and then it runs just fine. Both shops have ran every test they can on it and still no answer. Do any of you auto guys have any guesses at what has become a big pain in the rump mystery?
June 8, 200719 yr Author I will ask both if they have done this. I also e-mailed a place near columbus who is suppose to be really good and will wait and see what they think.
June 8, 200719 yr Author I'm going to take it to autozone tomorrow and have them put the code reader gadget on it and see what pops up my best friend said from there if it comes up with anything he can fix.

June 8, 200719 yr Author I do not think that is correct because I have had a car in the past where no lights were on and the code reader did read where there were things wrong. I will know for sure on Friday.

I will know for sure on Friday. In some cases if the problem is intermittant the light goes out when the problem goes away and the code is stored in history. Definitely worth a shot anyway. One thing I would check is the Cataylic Converter I had a car that done the same thing and the CC was clogged allowing no airflow to escape the motor. If that's not it it may be water or dirt in your gas, I usually just get me some clear rubbing alcohol works the same as STP Gas Treament and it's cheaper. The only other thing it may be is the Module.

June 11, 200719 yr Really? I've never heard of that...Definitley a cheaper alternative. Most definitley I've used it in a 76 Chevy Monte Carlo used to spit and sputter all the time and a friend of mine told me to do that and it had run great after I did that.

Not exactly the same, its ok to use on vehicles with a carb and some of the EFI cars that do not have sophisticated EFI or performance motors BUT it will mess up some O2 sensors and knock sensors. NCF, have them check the O2 sensors, mass air meter, and your fuel pump. What kind of car is it?
