I've stated (over and over again) what Fletcher did with the hiring/firing mess was wrong. Will you admit that what Pelosi is doing, or more appropriately, not doing with Jefferson is wrong?

Personally, this is what I think: Democrats in Congress would love to see Jefferson gone, but bleating about it won't get rid of him. Plus, representatives on both sides were miffed at the botched FBI raid on his office, because they saw it as a Constitutional issue of co-equal branches. So there's still that hanging over it.

 

I think Jefferson will get what's coming to him anyway.

That is the part that really miffed me about the whole thing. Both sides were mad about this. I think it showed a great deal of arrogance on their part as well as a weak argument. These people think that they are above the law.

The Republicans are horrible politicians. Right or Wrong they should be hammering Pelosi and the Democrats about Jefferson. We've heard for several years about this 'culture of corruption' about Bush and the Republicans. Now that they have a perfect candidate to attack they are mysteriously silent for the most part...

I'm not so sure. I fear that politicians would abuse the rule by turning the investigation into a soapbox to blast political opponents under the guise of a legitimate investigation. I have almost no faith in Congress to conduct a worthwhile investigation. One only has to look at the political grandstanding at the Congressional hearings into 9/11 to realize that even when dealing with the most serious of issues, politicians put political concerns ahead of the concerns of the country.
